I gave a salary range to a couple recruiters for digital consulting positions and am not sure if it was relatively close to market value or not. Would you think this (admittedly wide) range is high, low, or reasonable? Any advice is appreciated!

I am currently in a role as a Business Operations Manager in Higher Education. I have worked in Higher Education for the last 7 years and in education for the last 11 years in various roles. I am looking for a transition into the private sector. I am burnt out. I have gone on various interviews with Accenture and KPMG with no help from referrals but I feel as though a referral is needed to break into that industry. Any help and guidance is greatly appreciated!

Had titles of UXD and IXD working on enterprise applications in agencies, mostly related to financial services/asset management. I want to step away & join a product team for SaaS/emerging tech, but I got an offer for a Design Lead role at a financial services company a headhunter submitted me for.

Will accepting it pigeonhole my career? Certainly don’t want to entertain banking or financial services after even if it goes well, but the title will finally move me up to the sr/lead level

So back in July I went out for a new position at my small company that was rapidly expanding (Account Manager). Was notified that I didn't get the full promotion but was told instead that I was still moving up and was going to be Customer Service/Account Manager Support. The new Account Manager had no customer service experience within our niche industry. I instead had to help help him with all customer service issues.

Any advice on telling your boss you’re leaving your team? For context, I’m the 4th one leaving within a month (boring product, not toxic or anything), and the manager id be telling is my skip level, as my old manager left the team and I’m actually moving to his new team. Trying not to throw shade on my old (new? lol) manager bc I know that he spent all of his career in this department before moving. Is there any way to soften the blow, other than just giving a 2-3 week notice?

Where do you get your business clothes?

My manager just offered me “coaching advice” and called me “aggressive”. He was referring to feedback I gave on a call w new management, who are considering shifting our jobs to a new role but not increasing our pay. The new role is the same as a role 2 levels higher. 5 folks on my team slacked me to thank me for saying what I said. I’m shocked it took until 33 to get this feedback. Although I’m seething, I’m taking my power back and reframing it as “I spoke like a man in a meeting”.
