I've noticed this when I start charging too many hours. They love to live by the charge what you work but oh if it's over 8 hours, can you break down the hours and tell me what you were working on? It might be some of this

Do you feel like you can ask your manager why they are having you do this? It might be uncomfortable to talk about but better to feel discomfort for a few minutes than to feel anxious for weeks ans months

Does higher vault ranking (v10-30 compared to v80-100) open more doors for corporate in-house opportunities for a senior associate? If chambers practice area rankings and expected billable hours are similar and they offer the same DPW pay scale, does it matter less? Is it better to stay at/lateral to a firm where you might be able last longer to learn the necessary skills? Any personal anecdote or advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

I accepted a huge promotional offer to a manager role in industry. So I am leaving big4 as a senior. Can anyone help me evaluate whether I should take an exit opportunity. Currently in big 4 (fsrm) and have the opportunity to join a f250 payments firms internal strategy division. The team seems really nice but I’m just worried about leaving consulting and leaving the accelerated progression. Would love some insights as I’m fairly lost on what to decide. Thanks!
