Anyone recently joined Accenture and just hardlock to a project with no work? How long does it takes to get allocated to project ?
Have a call on Friday with the CEO of an environmental entrepreneurship non-profit. It could lead to a professional opportunity and maybe even billable work I can refer to my firm down the line. I’m going in with an open mind but little concrete information on his entity and goals and ways I could get involved. What questions would you ask such a person?
I’ll be short of RSM’s billable hours goal of 1600 by around 300 hours by the end of fiscal year end. How fucked am I?
Opinions? Management now requiring everyone to have 45 billable hrs per week, not including mandatory concepting n pitch work. Most people participating in 2-3 initiatives at same time. Is this normal
Smiling at the client as you press submit on $3,000 expense statement for just a two weeks period...
What counts as prior inventions that should be written in a previous inventions disclosure? I’ve “created” processes that are essentially well known but customized to my client. Does that count?
So EY Advisory, Deloitte Advisory, Grant Thornton, etc have recently mandated 45 billable hours/wk, up from 40. Clearly this isn't firm-specific. Anyone have any insights on what's really going on?
Client is looking for metrics associated with various functions of their security program. What’s a good source/framework for such measures? Thx.
Would you accept capping billable hours at 40/week in exchange for being able to work while completely remote?
Were your clients upset when you left? Long term project feels like resigning will be resigning from two companies. Especially after getting some very positive feedback from the client

Advice for young attorneys dealing with non-billable workload? I’m still my first two months at my firm but a ton of the work I’m being assigned is non-billable. I understand if I’m not still fully on boarded but how are we supposed to keep up billables while being given time consuming non billable work?
Does anyone live on Forsyth Street in the LES? I’m thinking of taking an apartment around there but with the construction project I worry about noise, and have seen articles about tons of crime on that street due to the fencing blocking off visibility.
Does higher vault ranking (v10-30 compared to v80-100) open more doors for corporate in-house opportunities for a senior associate? If chambers practice area rankings and expected billable hours are similar and they offer the same DPW pay scale, does it matter less? Is it better to stay at/lateral to a firm where you might be able last longer to learn the necessary skills? Any personal anecdote or advice would be appreciated. Thank you.
What is the typical turn around time for submitting proposals? I have a lot of billable work I need to do but prospective clients seem to put deadlines within a couple days of the request...
Is K&E a toxic firm? I have heard nightmare stories from current and former attorneys there.
I accepted a huge promotional offer to a manager role in industry. So I am leaving big4 as a senior. My background check just came through and somehow they have my big4 salary listed, even though I’m 99% sure I checked the box they couldn’t contact my employer. Could the company take back my offer for something lower?

Can anyone help me evaluate whether I should take an exit opportunity. Currently in big 4 (fsrm) and have the opportunity to join a f250 payments firms internal strategy division. They report directly to the c-suite and said they mainly focus on strategy or M&A and don’t do implementation. The team seems really nice but I’m just worried about leaving consulting and leaving the accelerated progression. Would love some insights as I’m fairly lost on what to decide. Thanks!
What are partners going to do with the massive amount of senior turnover? Considering changing anything? Upping pay, benefits, hours? Less understaffing? Anything?

How much nonbillable time is too much? I’m a second associate at a midsized firm and I have 30-50 non billable hours each month. An associate at another firm told me this was really high. Thoughts?

Is it possible to go from Big 4 consulting to MBB, or would you have to get an MBA to make that shift?
Apparently employee referrals don't get you a finders fee if you met said referral while working in your current job... to which I will now question how I say I know former clients interested in a job
