Uber is on hiring freeze!!@
Hi Everyone,
Was hoping to get a hand or advice. I had submitted an application the Travelers for a marketing position in early November, resume shows received but nothing else. Is there someone that works there that could direct me to a HR email or contact person? Have had nothing but a positive experience working with Travelers in my last two roles as an agent and then an underwriter would love to have to the opportunity to work directly with Travelers. Any help would be greatly appreciate is!Travelers

My company has an "unofficial" headcount freeze which means they will hire but only for important roles. Those roles really are all over though, from the lowest of IC roles to the highest management. So you can get hired, it's just for far fewer positions and the hiring manager has to be really persistent in pushing for the headcount.
Having talked to friends at Amazon, Google and Microsoft they're all feeling the same - not hiring like mad in all areas but still hiring targeted roles. It feels to me like the fresh graduates are the ones being blocked the most now only because there's a lot of onboarding to do for new graduates which is usually in the office with a whole team yadda, yadda, yadda. So hopefully the fact that you're an experienced person actually helps you in this Coronavirus time as you should be able to onboard remotely much easier.
I assume you're applying for cloud development roles? Those are the hottest of the hot at tech companies right now so they're hiring and management is mostly begging to fill such positions with women for diversity. I have an androgenous name and if I were applying anywhere these days I'd make sure my resume somehow reflects my gender.
Thanks a lot! This is super helpful
Depending on your experience, I could refer you for SDE roles at PayPal in San Jose.
