Hi ladies,
In a bit of an awkward situation: living with a guy who is a good friend of 10 years, but is also my ex. I just met a guy and went to drinks last week. Really like him. Con’t

You’re already moving out so nothing else to do. If it’s weird to have a new guy over just hang at his place instead of yours

If you just met you can slow walk until you move out.

Assuming new guy lasts for that long 🤞

Fiend/ex and I have separate bedrooms and I have been in town an average of 8 days a month since the breakup because of Alt-travel and holidays, which is why we decided to keep living together (that and the friendship of course). Breakup was not dramatic and the really the relationship was over in July and feelings are long gone on both sides. Official “breakup” occurred in September.

We’re both moving into our own places mid feb and once again I won’t be around a whole lot between now and then due to work and a brief vacation.

I know it’s awkward/weird. And I honestly didn’t think I’d meet a guy I like as I’m not really looking. What are your thoughts on this terribly awkward situation?

I wouldn’t do it myself but it could work for people. A gf of mine met her now fiancé when he was still living with his ex. (Amicable breakup, stayed to finish the lease) But he did move out after that so I think a definitive end date helped her feel more comfortable about that situation. They’re getting married this year.

My SO’s best friend was still living with his soon-to-be ex-wife for many months (maybe a year) when he started dating his now-wife/mother of his child. The ex-wife was financially dependent on him and had no place to go.
It somehow all worked out!
You’re moving, so just be honest, and if this relationship gets through this, you’ll know it’s strong.
Good luck ☺️

I won’t share any details with new guy - too much info. So better to take it slow until you have your new place. Not much left. If he sees potential in this he’ll take it slow.

If he asks why you can’t hang out at your place, just say “soon-to-be-ex-roommate drama, I’d rather not go into the details until it’s sorted out but we’re both moving in a month. Would love to have you over to the new place when I get settled.”

Fledgling startup or a big, established company: where would you work?

Working at a startup helps you pick up new cross-functional skills, forces you to dig deeper into your reserves, and allows leadership opportunities.

Big companies typically have a more structured path for career growth, offer benefits and perks to employees, and are perceived as more stable.

From 22-27 I dated a guy who worked all the time with the hope we would get married. Lots of time spent alone since he was never around on trips and so called vacations. Recently, I broke up with him and just am really feeling like I wasted my twenties. I saw two girls walking down the street yesterday with pink balloons that spelled “23”... what I would give to have not wasted my time with this guy. Has anyone ever gone through this?
