One major things is to look at what exactly are you buying with your money. See what expenses you can cut. Then, set a budget and stick to it. It seems like general advice but it helped me get mine down.
Rising Star
These were all reckless, finger happy expenses that just got out of hand. I definitely want to be more focused given that I won’t be traveling until 2021.

Consolidated loan and cut that cc
I was in a similar position earlier this year. I had about 12k in CC debt with an average interest rate of about 20ish percent. In Feb, I took out a 3 year personal loan with Upstart of 11,500 with an interest rate of about 11% and used that money to pay down my CC debt. Starting in March, I then used a combination of some savings, tax refund, stimulus check, and a portion of every paycheck and was able to pay off the personal loan in about 3.5 months instead of 3 years. It took 5 months of discipline but I’m now CC debt free and personal loan debt free!
*Disclaimer*: Not a finance guru or anything and this is just something that worked for me personally.
Good luck on your CC debt free journey!
Thank you very helpful!

Okay, fair. He is a reasonable resource if you need a quick run down on the debt-snowball method for debt reduction. Outside of that, he’s not very practical and he’s a little too “Tony Robbins.” He’s one of those, “LIVE DEBT FREE TODAY. BUY A BEATER CAR WITH CASH.” In a market that is tanking, it’s actually very foolish to rush to pay off debt and live on cash alone. The value of the dollar is decreasing; the value of your debt held decreases. You can refinance. Don’t listen to these self-help nut jobs. Just do your research and pay attention to the market. Talk to your friends in finance. Literally any of them.
