Hi ladies! Question for you all: do you have any tools/books that you recommend for career planning? Now that we are in QT and not traveling I would like to sit down and try to get more focus and clarity on what I want out of my career and beyond. Prior to consulting, I was involved in non-profits, professional development networks, etc. and that has dwindled due to the adjustment in consulting and would like start developing myself that way. Any recommendations? TIA.

No but I've been advised to try journaling. Write down what excites you and what doesn't. The goal is to set time aside to reflect and then look back to see what trend you may see in yourself.

Hi, I am going through a few books on consulting and one thing which seems to be given a lot of importance is market sizing. What is the importance of this? It seems to me that unless it is a new product; existing competitors, long term contracts, monopolies etc would make this result unreliable at best and misleading. Can someone help me understand this?

26 yrs old, been in consulting since finishing undergrad. Worried that I haven't narrowed my focus or found a niche to be specifically great at. Every project has been completely different... And I am constantly reading books to get smart on every other topic. My guess is this is all too common in consulting.

I am curious if this is feasible for a longterm career in consulting, especially if I am trying to continue climbing?

Has anyone ever made the jump from consulting to being a full time creative?

Recently I've realized that consulting isn't what I wanna do, but more broadly idk if a 9-5 business job is for me either. I've always wanted to make films and write books but I rarely see anyone in our industry make this kind of jump. Also finances 🥴

Overall I'm just not sure if I can see myself doing this for the next 30 years
