Does anyone get depressed on a sort of seasonal schedule? Not like SAD, but in cycles throughout the year that seem to track to the same time period each year.

I've never been afraid of surgery before and my dad's had a bunch (from military). He lives a few states away but I usually get to see him quite often. He's only in his 40s and my mom is with him. The surgery he's about to have is considered high risk. I'm not worried or anything, but it's it customary to go see them when they're having a major surgery? He'll be in-patient for at least a week. Sounds I go after and help my mom? WWYD?

Hey all - first year associate here… I’ve met my hours requirement for this year (requirement is 1900 and am currently at around 2050 with billable hours - approx. 2160 with non billable admin hours) and I am just tired. I have an offer to join a Tier 2 consulting firm next year (entry level). However, it seems like they have over-hired and they are now pushing the start date back by a few months. This is not great in itself, as I handed in my notice to my current employer last week, but I was wondering if I should be concerned about further pushbacks or even them withdrawing the offer. Is this something that happens, or will it just be a delay as they say?

I Received a first offer from Deloitte 2 weeks ago that I countered and they accepted to raise it.
The recruiter in charge of my case was on holidays and he came back to work last week.
Sent him two emails asking when I should expect the new set of documents, but no reply until today.
Is this normal? Does a new offer necessarily have to go through the same steps as the first one ? Because I waited 10 days between the verbal offer and the written one for the first time.
