Get a 41 Datejust. Probably hold its value the best and will never go out of style. I’d suggest steel, fluted bezel, and a dial that you like.

Stunning watch, how’ve they retained value? I’m just getting my feet wet on these
At a 10k price point, I’d go Rolex DJ either smooth bezel+oyster bracelet (more understated)or the classic fluted bezel + jubilee. This would be a good way to anchor your collection. If you’re open to exploring to other brands… I’d recommend looking at the JLC Polaris line

I think the Polaris needs one more generation of refinement. She looks to be a little on the thicc side, and the chrono would be killer if it had a 6 o’clock date. They’d also be wise to slowly back away from fauxtina.
GS SBGA415
All 3 good choices, just came to say if you haven’t done so already you could also look at the Cartier Santos
There are many choices with that budget. Safe to assume you are looking at a sporty elegant category because you are looking for a steel bracelet? Your Omega and Rolex options are already solid. Another one is that category would be IWC Ingenieur.
Agree. I see a lot of Tissot Gentleman in that watch.

It’s hard not to recommend the Datejust here. So many variations to cater to every taste and it’ll be timeless and last forever (just don’t get the 41 if you have really thin wrists; the 36 is iconic).
If the DJ feels boring in person then the GS would be the way to go.
The Omega AT is an all around rock solid watch but it takes the bronze medal 🥉 in this matchup, especially with a budget up to $10k.
Out of your 3 choices, unfortunately I would select the date just as I think it looks the best out of those 3 (and I’m not a big fan of Rolex). Just make sure you try it on first as it’s quite “bling” depending on the light and how it reflects off the bracelet and bezel. I tried one on and decided not to due to the “bling” aspect and felt it might blind my clients eye ;)
I would recommend a JLC, IWC, Ulysse Nardin and also glasshutte original pano. Looks elegant if you into that style.
The AT is so versatile! Making a similar decision myself and leaning that way as it seems like it can be worn for almost any occasion

The AT makes a great “one watch”, and I particularly like it on rubber. The bracelet doesn’t taper and is nowhere near as comfy as the DJ. That said, the AT is half the price and just as capable. See if you can try them both on.
I’m admittedly a Rolex fan, but don’t like the DateJust. At a lower price point an explorer is a better option. Personally, I have a sea dweller and a GMT Master II, which is my everyday watch. Apparently, Rolexes are in a bit of a nibble price wise now, so maybe look at a preowned one from Tourneau or a respectable seller. Also consider Cartier. I have a Tank Francaise that I love for more formal business attire and black tie (and I know watches are somewhat looked down upon when in black tie, but that watch is more like a bracelet/piece of jewelry than anything else). Cartier also makes some great other pieces like the Ballon and Santos that are more reasonable and look great. One thing though—and I’ll leave it to the more educated in this subject than I am: my tank, which I bought in 2008 has an automatic movement. Are they all quartz now? Just looked on the Cartier Web site and noticed this.
OP- the Rolex Daydate only comes in precious metals ( 18k gold or Platinum) and even pre-owned models from the early 2000s are going to cost around $20k. Would NOT recommend going to Jomashop for watches over 2K, especially Rolex.
Not sure jomashop has better prices for Rolex than any other secondary market seller. If you’re impatient, they do have a wide selection but it’s the usual mark up
And other options to consider. Thanks!!
Thank you all. Have some more research to do based on all the responses. Also realized I like the Rolex day date better (compared to Datejust) but don’t see it in stainless steel and the currently available options are way out of my budget. Any suggestions on AD’s to connect with in NYC? Guessing places like Jomashop aren’t recommended?
Day date only ever came in precious metal.
There is a day date by Tudor (Rolex’ sister company), but design wise less elegant in my opinion.
Jonashop is absolutely recommendable afaik (not US based).
If you want to go AD route/hoping for retail pricing, be aware you’ll very likely have to get on a list and wait months or years. NY specifically might be extra hard, unless you’re lucky or someone can hook you up.

DJs might be great but in the current market you’d be lucky to find a lady’s model in stock let alone one you’d actually want.
I’d also recommend looking into the Zenith Defy and Chronomaster lines are these price points.
