For simplicity I like to use as few companies as possible. Checking, investments, emergency fund, and retirement all with Fidelity. Only thing outside is my mortgage.
Most online offerings are going to be the same, find one that's easy to use, can transfer money without hassle, and is convenient for you.

I love capitol one, you can have sub accounts for each goal which is awesome

Should I be maximizing contributions to only my employer’s Roth 401k (all $19.5k) or should I be splitting the max between Traditional 401k and Roth 401k with varying percentages (i.e. 12% to Roth 401k and 8% to Traditional 401k)?

Hi fish. I have some friends in RE PE that are working on a RE crowdfunding / networking platform. Instead of throwing money into a fundrise or cadre deal, they envision a community of investors who meet and network often. Deals will be sourced every 6 months and investors meet monthly with the PE sponsors and for periodic networking events. I believe they will only charge a monthly membership fee. They have an impressive waitlist. Dm me if interested and I can connect u!

Hi guys. I have a query with regards to the Income tax proof submission.

So I have claimed exemptions on the following-
1) HRA
2) 5 year term deposit(fixed deposit) under Section 80C
3) Interest on education loan under Section 80E

I have also provided previous employment details.

Guys I didn't know that we have to submit declaration forms as well. Can you please tell me which are the declaration forms that I would need to fill and submit??

Thanks in advance :)

Taxpayer filed an extension along with an extension payment for 2019 tax return, and the payment was cashed but the IRS assessed failure to file penalty. Unfortunately don’t have certified mail receipt, but trying not to use first time abatement. Wrote a letter to the IRS in November and didn’t hear back, so called and they waived it but received a letter referencing first time abatement. Is there anything that can be done? Would like to have used reasonable cause abatement instead.

My boyfriend and I make 200K combined and live in NJ. We have $1000 in monthly car payments combined. That’s all we owe. Our credit scores are in the 800s. We have 50K to put down on a home. We have done the math and I know we can afford much more but he doesn’t want to buy more than a 400K home. I’m almost positive we can afford 500K and be more than ok. But then he starts to talk about how much kids cost and how we will be house poor and we won’t be able to afford kids. 🤔 Am I insane??

I have a LOT of credit card debt. It has just grown over time and I can’t find my way out. I’m considering debt consolidation, specifically a company called National Debt Relief which seems legit but I’m just so hesitant because I’m scared to make my situation worse. Or a personal loan to pay off all the CC debt and then have a smaller all in one payment. I’m intelligent and I work in finance, it’s so embarrassing. HELP.

Context: Married with first baby on the way. Plan is for my spouse to stay home with our (future) kids for next few years. My income is $250-300K and keeping it that way for a while as I’ve moved off partner track for at least 2-3 years as we start our family.

$120K in retirement accounts, $70K in cash, $50K in home equity, and $6K in HSA

Beyond mortgage, only debt is a $25K private loan that we can pay back any time in next 5 yrs. and isn’t accruing interest.

Does anyone have experience with a prenup/postnup? I have been wanting to get a postnuptial because I did not think about these things when I got married. We make the same salary, have separate accounts, but I have been building my wealth and working hard at saving my money while he has a mountain of debt and doesn’t save. It scares me to think if anything happens, he could just take half of my assets.
