You shouldn’t feel embarrassed. I wear wigs, hair extensions, braids at my dominantly Caucasian dept with no care in the world. As long as it is not loud and it looks natural you’re fine. They think it’s our “natural hair” anyways 🤣
Hahah!!! That’s funny. Thanks for the encouragement xx

Girl please, wear the wig. Now I have a story for you. My homeboy goes to India for high quality virgin bundles (like Beyoncé’s team buys his hair for her). So one day this Indian woman was STARING me down one parking lot at target. I looked at her like “Yes girl, it’s your cousin’s hair, and?” 😂😂😂😂
Are you there to impress them?? No, so don't worry about your co workers. Do your job, fix your wig really nice, and you'll be stress free!!!! Our hair do deserve a break!! In fact, I'm giving my natural hair a summer break: no coloring, cutting, shaping or hot rods!!!
I have definitely felt that way too! I have been so self conscious about my hair, whether it was my own that day or I was doing something else with it! Eventually it got to the point where it was a huge thing on my mind. I had to come to the realization, that I’m more worried about it then anyone else was, and just do what I want with it!
Never feel embarrassed of you natural beauty and if you want to change it up it’s your body and you have all the right over it.
Why do you feel embarrassed?
I just feel like it’s trying to have straight hair that’s actually not mine.
Zero reason to feel embarrassed!! Doubt any of them notice and everyone needs a break from hassling with their hair. Don't worry about it!!
As long as you fix her up cute you’ll be alright. I change my hair every few months and am 1 of 2 black girls. My non black coworkers either say nothing or compliment my new look. Don’t get my wrong, every first day of my new look I get a little nervous, but if you own it, they can’t say nothing. And if I have a curly wig they usually think it’s mine anyways lol Live your best life!
OP I hate that it is normal but honestly, I feel like it is because I have felt the same way before. I know there is no need to feel embarrassed but in the past there have been little side comments made to me about my wig that have brought me to this point.
Exactly my situation. Do you mind sharing the comments you’ve got?
I buy wigs hair that look just like mine and use as needed in a pinch. I have several in the same length and I get them styled and put them away to use when needed. Sometime ain’t nobody got time to be fussing with hair. It’s just convenient.
