I’m a POC & I hate to admit it, but - at the start of my search for executive roles, I was “reverse interviewed”.

In other words, I was likely invited into the process only to check some sort of box, because the recruiter seemed to know that they weren’t going to hire me.

I had not encountered this in such a blatant & personalized way earlier in my career journey, so I was wholly unprepared.

It startled me. I felt gross & ashamed about it each time it happened.

Few recruiters reached out to me and have been offering a hefty salary. Similar situation last year was different. I.e I see salary difference of 30 to 40% in base salary range. I am too excited to take the offer’s, but also scared that is it just momentarily and when market stabilizes they would fire folks???? The companies reaching out last year and this year are different ; none of them are big tech companies.

Most of my experience has been freelance and I'm a self taught engineer. Though I have worked with a vc backed start-up @100k my first real employeement and later with a smaller company @85k in a different state.

I just began working with a larger company @100k and I know I have more experience then my first gig.
The offer I accepted is one level anyway from being senior.
