Just left DoD civ life and started my new position this week. Let me tell you, breath of fresh air (figuratively and literally, spent 12 years working in a windowless vault). Leaving govt civilian was definitely the right choice. Already feel like my quality of life has improved. Was scared to make the jump at first but I fortunately landed with a great team. But salary negotiations didn't went well and they didn't release the offer letter.
