Curious how other people’s brains work.
When you get an activation brief, what’s your process for coming up with a solid idea?

Look for cultural moments that you can adapt? Look through award show books? Scroll YouTube videos until 3am?

I know that every brief and every idea is different, but I’m more interested in the process and what you’re creative routine is to get the wheels turning.

I am going to be starting a job working in an academic laboratory at a school in Western NY as a lab tech, and was offered 32k salary. I have a BS in Med lab science and have been working in clinical research for the past three years since school. Negotiating them to go higher has not been very successful so I’m hoping to get a sense whether this is a fair salary for my experience? I’ll be cutting my salary more than in half from my job in clinal research but trying to get into PhD program.

Anyone regret going in house? Being recruited hard by a global company’s in-house lit dept (which are not all that common in general) and I’m so on the fence…. I am one of the few that actually enjoys working at a firm (esp the $$, being transparent) and I’m in a good position to make partner but I don’t want to work as hard as the partners here do for the rest of my life. But can’t decide if less stress/hours is worth losing a job I enjoy and taking a pay cut. Any insights???

If you’ve decided you just don’t like practicing law, especially after several jobs, what have you done to leave? Do you feel compelled to use your JD in some way because, “well, I already got it”? Or are you okay moving in an entirely new direction?
I’m thinking of starting a new business unrelated to law. The JD and practice experience will obviously come in handy with typical business management issues like negotiating and enforcing contracts, basic HR issues, etc. (Cont. in comments)
