For anyone debating whether to go in house, I recently went in house, and the mental health benefit of not having to worry about billable hours is completely worth the switch. It's great not having to worry about catching up on hours when I'm out for a doctor's appointment, vacation, etc. It's more of a mental health relief than I guessed it would be.

I started a new job and at the same time entered a depressive episode coupled with an unhealthy and stressful new living situation. The end result has been a terrible performance review that I’m worried is going to follow me around in this job. I’ve already put in for emergency time off and I go to therapy, but I don’t know what else to do. I can’t seperate what’s mental health and what’s actually wrong/what I have control over anymore.

Has anyone asked to be rolled off a project due to mental health issues (anxiety, depression, sadness). Have tried my best to get through it buts it’s not improving

Would love to start soon but I’ve been on the fence about switching companies. My current employer has pretty solid benefits for leave and healthcare but it’s a stressful role with a lot of chaos. I originally contemplated switching companies to somewhere less stressful but am worried that I’ll be starting from zero as a new employee and may not have the same benefits. Should I just wait until after to change jobs?

I’m considering joining what I think is a promising startup applying machine learning to health plan operations. My spouse and I recently adopted an older shelter dog (Carlotta). Some of the other MDs at my hospital were putting together a "Dr. and Dog" social event, so I took Carlotta. I am working for two years for a CAD/Architectural software company. The first year I have learned and used three.js, improved the performance of the real-time rendering engine by 100xes. While doing that I’ve also learnt C++ and started working on the backend, also in Pascal to improve the performance of other shit. Long story short, everything I touch has improved by many 100xes. I recently started my new job as a Business Anaylst in training to become a Product Owner in the near future. I make 70k with a little less than 1 year of experience. I recently found out a coworker of mine makes $120k with a little over 2 years of experience. I looked up the companies average salary for the position which is $86k. I feel that the offer I accepted I was low balled after finding this information out. Should I negotiate a higher salary even though I don’t have alot of experience?
