Is it a red flag if during an interview the partner asks how your billable hours were last year? Could be just a standard question but I wasn’t sure.. I’ve never been asked that before in interviews.
Do you have a nanny in your home or have you interviewed a nanny during COVID? Any important lessons you may be willing to share? My previous nanny agreed to wear a mask but I mostly saw it slide under her nose. :( I understand it is uncomfortable and hope to learn from others about managing in-home child care.

How hard is it to change fields as a software engineer? I have 4 years working in aerospace software but have been considering looking into big tech companies that pay better. What are some good ways to be more marketable for the big tech companies that are looking for more expertise in system design or specific tech stacks that I haven't worked in?
How do you deal with a Partner that gives you loads of unbillable work. I’ve made sure to bring up that that client won’t pay atty fee for certain tasks and he tells me to bill it as xyz but xyz are usually tasks that don’t take that long so it does end up getting cut! He is a non-equity partner desperately trying to get a promotion only cares about the work he turns in/bills even if it means screwing over the associates on the file.

So, something is happening finally after 15+ years!!! Still anxious. Yesterday status was “New card is being produced” and today it changed to “Case was Approved”. Shouldn’t it be the other way? And it also says “please follow the instructions in the notice”. What does this status mean?
Hello all! I am currently in a clinical role as I have been for the past 17 years in neurophysiology. This has been a great experience but time for me to move on. Ideally I’d like to move to some type of analytics perhaps or QA; remote work would be perfect. I have a BS and MBA in healthcare management. Anyone have any leads they can share? I’ve been looking for awhile now with little luck on my own so I thought it wouldn’t hurt to ask here.
Calling all US expats- how do you file your US taxes? Do you do it yourself, or can you recommend an accountant or other service to help? I always used my family accountant when I lived in the US, but he’s not well-versed in the overseas resident process.
Had MBB final rounds Friday and Monday. Have not heard back from either yet and am getting a lil anxious anticipating the news lol. Is this normal? When should I expect to hear back?
I can't stop crying. I don't know if it's because of hormones (period coming in a couple days) or just because I feel like I'm such a failure. I absolutely hate my job, but at the same time I need the paycheck. I have no energy/motivation to look for something else, especially since I feel like I haven't picked up any skills in the last 10 years and wasted my career in consulting. This is not imposter syndrome. I know I don't have any skills (even excel and I'm a manager).

Do companies sometimes offer "gifts of appreciation" if you're not selected for a merit increase? My manager randomly called me to let me know I was chosen for the "gift" this year bc of my "hard work & dedication", except now I'm learning other colleagues are receiving actual merits.
I mean it's possible that I may receive a merit, but I feel like I won't considering my manager never brought it up & the dept update made it sound like those receiving it should know by now.
