I’d prefer to see the MBA. I have Hiring Managers who view people with a PhD as professional academics.

like

MBA for the workplace. PhD is an incredible life achievement particularly if your goal is to stay in academia.

like

HMs prefer MBA’s.

PhD candidates are less common and stand out from MBA candidates - in terms of expertise it’s difficult to assess purely on academic credentials.

Interesting. I have 20 years of experience, so this would be in addition to that. It's just hard to imagine going back to b school with a bunch of 20 year olds and pay the high tuition right now....while the PhD is all flexible and free to just write. Oof, tough decision!!

If anyone has any leads for other firms, referrals, general advice, would really appreciate the help - thank you so much

Hi everyone,
I passed my PMP thanks to this sub group.
I have passed Above Target in the People section, and T in the other sections.
It was 95% situational questions.
Thave used AR's mock exams, and used my wrong answers to figure out my weakness and where I truly stand. I didn't purchase AR's course, just the mock exam simulator.
The 200 agile questions by David McLachlan were amazing, it really helped me in adapting to an agile mindset. TIA simulator n Joseph Phillip is useful.

A good strategy I have is to see what type of client I am talking to and make dinner in the house for that person. I mean, if it is a couple I prepare a romantic dinner for two, and I tell them to come well-dressed and let them enjoy the dinner in the house. If it is a family, I prepare a family dinner and prepare the family table for all the people who would live in the house. Making them feel at home before buying the house does not fail, what do you think? What other strategies do you use?

I know that I am being underpaid. Have been with the company 6 years, have my MBA, and make a little more than new hires in the current market.

Have discussed this and shared my benchmarking with my direct management and HR. They keep telling me to “be patient” (for the opportunity that is ahead of me) & that “life is unfair”.

After 6 years I’m tired of being patient.

I also love my job duties, my coworkers and my boss (who I’ve had for less than a year).

Last summer, I had three offers to compare when making a decision. Two were Director level, one was IC. I lost a lot of sleep over the decision, and surveyed every important person in my life, and worked with a career coach. I made the decision to take the IC role with the big company.
