I would combine DEI with a traditional role, for example, Diversity Recruiter. Produce results and perhaps you can move into more DEI strategy or program management.

+1, I think it's the softer way to ease that into consciousness while still providing "practical" support

Join a professional organization with. DEI focus so you can lost initiatives through the org. Volunteer for related causes- mock interview students or do career consulting for veterans, displaced women, DACA recipients.

Look for panels to join in webinars and take in the DEI community. Being passionate about it is amazing but for a resume you want to back that with action

I have a virtual on-site round for a Product Manager role coming up in which some of the interviews will involve screen sharing and whiteboarding. The suggested tools were Miro, Limnu, Excalidraw or any other tools I’m comfortable using. I essentially never whiteboard and I’ve never used these tools. What are some easy to learn and use whiteboarding tools that will do the trick and I can pick up in like an hour?

Friend of mine was supposed to receive an offer (told verbally) from Deloitte and then just found out they are pausing on hiring the role. How common is that? Seems wildly unprofessional that none of the partners called and instead it was the recruiter conveying that news. At McKinsey, if that happened, the head of the practice or the office would personally make the phone call at the very least.

It’s been 18 month since my firm forced promotion or severance on to us as they eliminated my position. They promised an increase in commission based pay at the end of the licensing period. Its been 2 months (6 pay periods) since I completed this and no change. They say they are waiting for the licenses to post officially, but have all the evidence that I’ve passed. Should I demand back pay for the last 2 months they’ve been paying me as an unlicensed banker while I’m actually licensed?

What are good options for exits from M&A Tax? Is there a better cut-off like being a manager that might be the best time to leave? Are any exit ops non tax specific that would make sense? Feels like other roles wouldn’t be as lucrative but also want to have ideas in case I start burning out. [CPA, Senior, NYC]

Just talked to a doordash recruiter for analytics manager role which requires 6+ years work experience. They offered 108k base and 107k equity over 4 years. So that ~130k and it’s much less than what I make. The LinkedIn link says the range in Colorado is 115k-149k base. I live in a big city in Pacific Northwest which is not Seattle. Am I being low balled?

Anyone hiring in Chicago? Looking to move. I work in the digital landscape.

Recently recruited by McKinsey for the Associate role, which required 2 rounds of interviews. After round 1, the recruiter said I did extremely well and to keep doing what I was doing. I performed the same in the final round but got rejected, with the generic feedback that I wasn’t “a good fit.” I don’t understand the drastic difference in feedback between the 1st and final rounds. Is this just a matter of EM’s (1st round) vs. partner’s (final round) standards? McKinsey & Company

Executive Office and Special Projects Manager position at a large company. This would be working directly with the CEO and Chief Marketing officer. What would you expect the base salary to be? Total compensation package was great but I’m thinking base salary is off….

I am finally making six figures! Never thought this day would happen! Before this I was making $48,000 annually. This is all new to me. Anyone have any tips/suggestions on where the extra money should go? Would it be smart to put extra in my retirement or some type of investment?(in my mid 20’s)

Best life lesson I learned from Deloitte: don’t ever, EVER sign a contract that demands you return the sign on bonus if you leave within a year. I thought to myself, “I would never leave a company within a year”, but I grossly underestimated how much I could hate a job.
