Hey, Fishies! We’re launching our first Interview/Q+A series "Portfolio Rewind: Would You Hire You?"
Like a portfolio review in reverse, creative leaders will share work they created when they first started out and critique it as if were a book that had just landed in their inbox. Then, tell us if they’d hire their younger selves knowing, and expecting, what they do now.

We are using Zoom and Google Meet for our IEP meetings as well as daily instruction ( literacy). It seems to work well for students at the elementary level and parents are happy the students are receiving services!
We are having our IEP meetings via Google Meet. I had four last week. It was just like a phone conference.
Our district is a google district, so we have been using Google Hangouts/Meet. It allows people to video conference in or call in by phone (can be a mix of the two). It also allows us to present the report, goals, and any other IEP forms. It's really great! I had two triennials and an annual all last week and it went so smoothly. I did a practice run with parents before hand so I could make sure they could call in to the meeting either by video or by phone.
We’re doing them on Microsoft Teams.
We have been conducting IEP meetings via google hangout/Meets or over the phone.
Holding meetings via phone with admin and parent (iPhone can merge calls). Reg Ed, parent, and admin get IEP to review ahead of meeting. Parent excuses reg Ed (use a form to do this, reg Ed gives feedback for IEP). Zoom if parent has that capability or access to do so.
We were given two days to prepare to finish any remaining ieps we had the following week. So I had 5 left and was told on a Friday that I had to complete them all virtually the following week. I used zoom and google meet for them. I’m not sure how you’d do it without though..magic? Thinking really hard about it? Lol
Thanks, it’s a hurdle, I just want to conduct the IEP properly w/out mistakes and of course, teach my students.
Our Team Chair emailed parents and asked for an extension of the current IEP. All accepted, but one which will take place via conference call.
Thank you, I’m just waiting for the “ok” from my district to use Zoom/ Google meet.
We are using zoom!!
We are doing ours via conference call with the team.
Director had use send out HIPAA forms that the parents digitally signed and we hold meetings by zoom
We are using Google Meets. I broke down my POR students into groups of 1 or 2 depending upon their needs and see everyone at least twice a week. I teach group classes of Orton Gillingham so have had to get a little creative with the multi sensory instruction
We haven’t had any yet but we we just got permission to start. They’re starting with ones that have been missed already due to the closure; I won’t have one for a few weeks. We’re sending a letter home telling parents they can do a meeting via zoom or postpone until school starts. We can’t do zoom with kids by themselves but I think that’s waived if the parent is there as well.
Thanks for your input, lessons are difficult w/out interactions w/ the student .
I had my first IEP last week, it went amazingly well! See if a colleague can assist the meeting by completing the Prior Written Notice for you during the meeting. We were told to ask parents if they feel comfortable to have the meeting virtually and if not, it would be moved forward to a date once school re-opens. We forward a copy of the IEP to all involved 48 hours prior to the meeting time, that way e dry one can follow along. Our meetings are held on Google Meet. We also use Google Meet for our virtual classes.
What are you serious ! I have google meet meetings with my students and I have myself and interpreters go into their mainstream classes for meetings too! IEPs on on phone .
I’m in madera California...
We are doing regular phone call conferencing. We have to send a DRAFT copy home 3 full days before our mutually agreed upon time. During the call Parents have the IEP in front of them to ask questions, clarify, add, or take out anything. I’ve done 2 annual reviews this way and both went very well. Parents appreciated our flexibility since some were working from home and educating their own children at the same time.
Ours are video or phone conference 💻 📱
I have used Zoom for a meeting and a phone conference site for others. I ask the parents what is comfortable for them. One of my parents felt Zoom was unsafe, and I found a conferencing site to hold more than 9 people. Both meetings with the phone conferencing site went well.
