You get paid more even though you are in a lot of instances just as useless as a BA out of undergrad
Most fall into a different category: non-MBA. They have no need for an MBA and will likely never get one.
At EY having a mba only matter for some practices. You will not get payed more for having a mba if your practice doesn’t require it.

It’s the same job with the same responsibilities. There is no difference except the door to get in and in certain cases, the pay, but that’s equalized out at manager + level.

You get paid more but you'll also have a 200k student loan and 2 years of missed salary. Also don't forget you gotta study hella hard to get a good score on the GMAT bc MBA is only worth it from top 15/20

Pre and none for the whole of industry.
If you’re looking to get into strategy, then it is different in terms of starting salaries and maybe exit ops assuming you have an MBA from top 7. Otherwise I don’t find it matters much at all.
Agree with most that’s been said above.
Also, to shed some light in terms of numbers: my current office has approximately the same numbers of BA/SBA and Associates (consulting non-expert track)
No BA has an MBA and almost all associates have MBAs, so at least at the more junior levels it’s a 50/50 the current snapshot.
However, a lot of the BAs will go to business schools instead of going directly for the manager promotion (I’m one of them), so I think this will skew things towards more than 50% MBA at the manager and above levels.
On the flip side, I’m not including expert track, where a lot of the managers/APs came from the industry and might not have MBAs
Only difference is that someone decided to pay a buttload of money on extra schooling that’s not really needed anymore and someone else used those years for valuable client / work experience.
Pay the fees, get the B’s (and degree)
I know of very few people in my corner of cyber with an MBA so this depends on what type of work you do. About a third of the group I’m in have legal degrees 🙃
