Hi Team,
I am joining Deloitte soon, before putting down my notice with my current employer the background investigation team informed me that except the current employer all elements are completed and finalized. The Current employer verification will be done before the week of the start date. Is it ok to put down the notice now or will there be any additional investigation that needs to be completed that might impact the start date.

What will they investigate with the current employer? Isn’t it just the paystubs and offer letter that they ask you to upload to verify?

Put in notice now. They’re just checking dates and the role/title you put in your resume

I think it's safe to put your notice in now, but if you don't feel safe there's no problem with waiting until everything's certain.

No don’t put down your notice until everything is completed

Yes you shold be fine. I have never had any problems with this.

Recently started with them. I put my notice in a soon as I signed. Unless you've lied or have a record you have nothing to worry about.

Background checks are a usually formality unless you have something misrepresented in your application. Assuming that’s not the case you can put in your notice. Your current company will clue in anyway once HR gets a call

Im a RN and took on a new role working in Home Health. I chose this position because My husband & I recently moved to PA with our 2 kids (1&3), with no family available for his residency program with a hospital. If you know that life, I’m pretty much the main parent for our kids. I don’t want to work in the hospital/floor work anymore; nor do I believe the hrs are flexible enough. I need a job that’s flexible for the kids but pays >$44/hr. Maybe remote or hybrid? Please help w/ suggestions.

Hi all. Looking for advice. I’m trying to decide between 2 job offers (same salary) but different positions. One is a study director (essentially a project manager for a medical device company) and the other is in Quality Assurance (medical device company as well). Study director position company is slightly smaller but growing. I really want growth possibilities and a good career future. Any advice?

I searched and i’m incredulous we haven’t had this discussion yet. What’s your position on LIV. I think it’s a league mostly of has beens and never was’s designed to stroke Greg Norman’s ego and personal vendetta. I have no problem if you want to take the money to play events no one will care about and won’t get world ranking points, but don’t think you can have it both ways.

Making a lot of money relative to the average but feeling poor? Median after-tax income was ~$55,000 in 1981 and was ~$73,000 in 2020. Using a Bank of Canada inflation calculator $55,000 in 1981 is equivalent to ~$165,000 today, which would put someone in the top 10% of earners today. But in 1981 the median family had that extra money. Who can I blame?

Hi creatives! I need your help here. A quick background:

Junior copywriter based in Toronto here. Came to Canada about a year ago and did an internship at Klick Health.

Once it ended in late August, they didn't take on ANY intern full time. Been job searching for the past 3 months. Would really appreciate any leads/insight on some entry level gig or internship that might be available in this city. I know it's year end and it's hard, but I am still hopeful as I have seen people still get hired.

I just quit my job because I didn’t feel it was a fit. Is anyone on here, by any chance, hiring?

Hey Everyone, I'm a Mechanical Engineer that has not worked in the Engineering field since being in Canada. My degree is from a fully accredited institution but I have sent numerous amounts of applications and no company wants to take the chance. Since I've been here I work my way up in the few industries that I've worked in. I just need a opportunity to apply my knowledge and experience with the Mechanical Engineering field.
