Hello all, I recently joined a co with a huge offshore presence . I have worked for the top firms in this area 18 years. At this new co, there seems to be no accountability assigned to the teams that are supposed to do work in certain areas. I am accountable for all the work but do not have any direct or indirect authority of the teams that are supposed to do different parts of the work. It’s my promotion year and the engagement manager I’ve been working with for a year now submit a review as if I’m a first year campus hire. We’ve had conversations about my background and that I’m an experienced hire, so he should definitly know this fact. I work out a lot and I’m ranked as one of the top lifters in the world. I’m fairly muscular and do my best to cover up at work so I don’t draw attention to myself since I work for a very conservative company or have the “bro how much do you bench” convo with the men at work. I am dealing with one guy in a team who is good in all aspects but does some sneaky stuff like going around me and setting meeting with my manager or other directors to talk about the project stuff which could have been easily shared with me. He is very extrovert and as a result he does over shadow my other engineers as well. I am trying to control him and making sure that I take out best of him. My boss thinks if I feel this is too much I can get rid of him. Any advise?
