Direct building/apt manager websites. Google maps to find apt building names and go from there
Can attest to this. I recently moved and had great luck with directly going through the building websites
Signed a lease from out of state last month and I had the best experience using Zillow to see all the options available in the area I wanted to be in. Once I narrowed it down to a few I liked, I checked reviews on Google/Yelp then set up tours at my top complexes.
I used the facebook groups and it worked out well for me! Also coming from the Gulf Coast region & found many friends via the facebook page, even if the roommate situation didn’t work out.
I’ve found every apartment on Craigslist, all have been great. Just stay away from scams.
If you would rather a big box, new building kind of place, I second the opinion above to just go to their websites (and check reviews - lots of the “luxury” places are getting built in rougher neighborhoods and their prime audience is out of towners who don’t know the area).
