Hi there, I am a third year Finance student with work experience currently as a teller and also in a consulting position for small business regarding their e-commerce. I have a offer for an internship for project coordinator and also for credit analyst, A little torn between the options, would appreciate any input from anyone who worked in related fields.

It depends on where you’d like your career trajectory to begin in your professional career, in my opinion.

Project Coordinator (without seeing the JD) seems to directly relate to product or project manager roles.

Credit Analysts can pivot between banking and FP&A early in their careers.

Depends on which route you’d like to take!

do you think it is too greedy to try and do both? eg. credit analyst this summer and then project management next year.

Probably off topic but I would HIGHLY recommend you build an input driven 3 statement model - 4 tabs in excel - 1 tab for inputs, 1 tab income statement, 1 tab balance sheet, and 1 tab statement of cash flows.

If either internship is at BMO then choose that - BMO is an excellent employer with outstanding WLB. I was there much of 2023 before leaving.

both are with BMO!

I applied to a job at KPMG and did the first two rounds of interviews, general interview, then case study and competency. Never before have I had such a positive feedback at the end of an interview of the 2nd, both said really like me, I did well etc.
It's now been 3 weeks since the interview and I still haven't heard back from the team other than the odd HR email saying they are following up with them. Is there something going on internally, I.e hiring freeze in the London office atm?

Currently in finance ops group at a PE shop in Canada. In late stages of interview process w GS in NYC for similar role but at the Associate level. All indications point to an offer being imminent but I have concerns with 1) title (junior VP’s in the group have +1/-1 YOE than me, 2) base feels a bit light given I have 9+ YOE (job description says top end is US$160K)…Nervous for a change as current role is very comfy but nothing ever grows in comfort zones. Thoughts?

I am so beyond ready to leave my current job, but can’t yet, since bonuses are paid out in January. 😬

Hi! I want to become a Credit Analyst. Can someone refer me to Pacific Premier Bank or Deutsche Bank? Thanks a ton

Hi all! I got rejected from JPMorgan for their Global Finance and Business Management program (through my resume, couldn’t make it to interview). However, I’d reached out to recruiters and am meeting with one in a couple of days! Do I have a shot at turning this around? Or will it not matter once she learns I was rejected. Thanks!

I have been in client facing wealth management as an advisor for 10 years. I haven’t built a book of business because I’ve worked for mostly discount brokers (Merrill edge, TDA, Etrade). I need help figuring out if I’m being underpaid. I’m working in real estate private equity and I focus on fund models and property valuations. I’m currently at base $80k and 20% bonus. On top of that I have 5 years experience and a masters in finance. I’m good at my job and receive positive reviews from everyone. I feel like I should be compensated better but the company says that’s what they think I’m worth. Any help or insights would be great!
