Hi there! I’m curious if anyone has tips for approaching a case interview or a framework to follow for a consulting internship?

Read a case interview book, Case Interview Secrets was helpful for me. Gives a lot of advice on how to approach the case and how to structure your frameworks. Then find a peer who has succeeded in casing before and practice.

I've an interview scheduled for this week with EY for the role of Consultant - Performance Improvement. For first round I was asked to submit a case study solution. I wanted to know how many rounds of interviews would be there and how the overall process would be like since this would be my first experience for consulting interview. Any suggestions would be highly appreciated 😊

Are there any senior fund formation attorneys here in biglaw willing to help me with interview prep for a mid level lateral position, or at least help me boost my confidence? I told a former legal intern I could write two recommendation letters for them and realized this morning that I’d missed the deadlines for submission on different days earlier this week. A close neighbor died after a long illness this week and it hit me harder than expected as I’ve been trying to process all of the losses so many people have suffered over the past year and a half. Should I let the former intern know or reach out to the companies and try to submit the letters late first?

I have an interview coming up that is much more technical than my current role. I have a good foundation for a lot of the skills they are looking for but no concrete experience. While everyone’s situation is unique, it appears to me that there is a general (and substantive) difference between the mindset of senior execs/partners (Gen Xers) and the Gen Z/Millennial troops as to the need to head back to the office. There is a world of difference between “the office” as code for “client lunches, rounds of golf” vs “needless commuting time that will eat into a working day that is already unsustainable”. Do you feel your organization is in touch with where you are?

Hi, I have been in the business where I am for over 15 years. Even after I became a MD, there’s always few who undermines my skill sets and knowledge. Similar to the other posts I’m tired of this (whack a mole game, squid game) and I still have 3 years prior to vest my pension. I’m debating losing my sanity vs. losing good pension. To be honest unless I can move laterally to another role, I’m bored with what I’m doing right now.

I was saving up my PTO to plan a trip to home country in December. Now the immigration team has started an immigration case so I cannot travel in December. I know as per policy I can only carry forward 10 days of PTO. Is it worth to try to get an exception? I know policies like these are non-negotiable. Has anyone ever tried anything like this and got a positive result?

Thinking we should do a couple nights in Big Sky and a couple nights in Yellowstone. Planning to fly in and out of Bozeman. Any recommendations for Big Sky or Yellowstone? Anyone stayed in Yellowstone?
