Hi there, I'm looking to transition out of agency recruiting and into HR/People Ops with a larger company (or at-least move in house). I would love to hear from any folks who've transitioned in house and what roles you transitioned into.

Well a corp recruiter job would be most common to transition. Why do you want to leave agency side? Typically there is a decent pay cut involved in going from agency to corporate.

Recruiting is great, but I have an appetite for more strategic work. I really have an interest in people and culture and the processes and policies to really drive work forward in a way that feel really distant from recruiting.

I took my first Data Science job in a very small company and I had no idea what the job should be like because this was my first.

I ended up doing software design and other engineering tasks during years, not a lot of research or data crunching.

The good part is that I realized that what I really like is to design systems and to program. Now I want to apply for SWE jobs, but afraid that my job title will be a problem. Any tips?

Hello everyone! New fish here in this fishbowl. I have a question concerning empowering and developing the team.

Is it possible to empower the team and delegate certain tasks and then risk to be perceived as “irrelevant” to the superiors (because the team is doing the legwork)? Is this an unfounded fear? Is it a real risk? And if it is a real risk, how can I manage it?

USC Bovard College reached out to me recruiting for their MS in HR. I never thought about going back to school post-undergrad, but the curriculum looks very relevant to my day-to-day client work, doesn’t require a GMAT, and it’s entirely online.
