Farmers protesting to ban 5G, ban COVID vaccines, asking to stop wearing masks, no lockdown, stop COVID tests. TBH didn't know so much about agriculture
Best time to move to NYC in terms of optimal rental market conditions? I have the option to move there for my job anytime from March to Sept this year. I was thinking the timing would be ideal in March due to less people moving but prices are looking pretty high, I think inventory is lower than usual due to COVID. Any insights on the best time to move?
Has/did anyone find that their curiosity or number of interests hinder them in figuring out what they wanted to do with or after an MBA? Some days i could see myself trying to go into IB for a few years, but i have a lot of other personal interests that i could see myself trying to make a career out of. I’ve been thinking about taking the GMAT for two years but because of Covid/me not deciding what i want to do, i haven’t decided if i want to go down the mba route. Turning 28 soon
When you feel the sickness creeping in, what can you do to prevent it from getting worse. Currently keep clearing my throat, but so far doesn’t hurt yet. Any advice? Don’t think it’s COVID, could just be a common cold. After all, it is the season for it.
Anyone moved from a condo downtown to a nice chalet/house with a lot of land in the countryside? Our work being full time remote, I’m highly considering this. It just seems to be so much more freedom and space. I’m only 23 and alone but the city is too restrictive and not fun with covid.
Supposed to go to DU in March. I’ll be in second trimester. There’s no mask policy. I got the booster in November but Covid in December before pregnancy. Would you go?
Started at a new company two months ago… everyone is nice but I feel like no one is actually friends with each other. At EY, people would just shoot the sh*t and send memes, and talk about things besides work, now it’s all accounting and Covid. How have you gotten closer to your coworkers and created a warmer environment?
What did your agency’s processes look like before covid? What part of the process did you find to be absolute gold, the game changer, the thing that made it work and work so well? And what part of the process was it that failed the most and why? How you navigate around the pitfalls of the process? And how have your processes changed (for the better or worse) during Covid?
Curling Iron prices are all over the place! $25 -200 on Amazon and Nordstrom served one up for over $400. What are the best and what feature to look out for? I grew my hair out over Covid and want to do those beachy curls.
What would be the reasons to be classified as an exempt employee and not get OT? Bc of covid?
Does anyone else feel like Olympic campaigns are seriously subpar this year? (One exception being the skateboarding FB ads by Droga). Normally I feel like there are at least several great campaigns you see over and over and this year I literally can’t even bring many to mind. Wondering if the cause has been covid production restrictions, or less money pumped in due to fear of the games being cancelled, or brands feeling like the Olympics shouldn’t have even happened. Thoughts?
It feels like the court’s efforts to maintain a perception of neutrality and cohesion sometimes comes off really forced. It’s ok if they don’t get along. Had some slightly atypical but severe COVID-like symptoms this weekend - tested negative with both rapid and PCR on Sunday, the day after symptoms started and the day they peaked; is it ok to go to restaurants/gym as usual? How likely is false negative PCR
After a hard reset on travel points (got none after Covid and change to industry) how would you start over? Which credit card is best for travel points? Airline? Starwood or Bonvoy? Avis or ?? At one time I had status on most airlines and hotels but I never bothered to focus on accumulating points since it seemed like they were infinite and I booked on convenience. Oh have times changed! I even let go of Amex platinum, just wasn’t worth it to me. Base airport LAX/SNA so no airline pref.
Visa question: wife on H4EAD for past 2 yrs, was on H1b before that and has approved I140 since 2014, employer ready to sponsor h1. Does the employer need to file i140 again for H1b or can use previous i140 for the change of status from h4 to H1b?
Does anyone know if Microsoft files visa transfer under premium processing or not? Are there special approvals required from manager or by default they will file premium?

Is it possible to be in government consulting and not have to travel? I'm looking to make a change but prefer a very different lifestyle than the one I've had regarding balance
👀 Still looking for an apartment swap in NYC. I have a clean apartment in Mexico City. The dates are October 27th to November 3rd, Day of the Dead holiday weekend. With LOTS happening. Located in the best area of Mexico City with a ton of restaurants, cafes, and parks. High speed internet with standing desk, large TV, external monitor, and more. Message me your email or phone number and we can text to exchange pictures and more information.
Question about retirement limits... Possible to contribute $19k to Roth 401k and separate $19k to traditional 401k?
I want to start some new 🐠 bowls: 1. Imma ask about Roth vs Traditional 401k AGAIN 2. Who dat not wearing a face mask 3. Should contact an attorney but don’t wanna 4. Boomers that don’t use google What are your ideas for a new bowl? 😉
Does anyone else find it challenging to max out their 401k? I know it’s almost the first thing recommended here but contributing $20500 for someone making $70k is different than if you’re making $150k. I’m slightly envious of you guys
Current project is very chill and management likes me/gives good reviews but I’m not challenged and do not lead others. I’ve considered switching projects to go up early (SC year2). I am six weeks pregnant, first pregnancy at 33. The other reason I wonder about going up early is that I’m not sure I want to be going up during year3 after being out on maternity leave and life drastically changing. I started my professional career late so feel like I’m playing catch-up too, any advice? Thanks!
Does deloitte pay out all your unused PTO when you leave the firm? I may be moving to a new company and I'm trying to look this up.
