Applying to roles within the same federal agency. I know you need one year within the probationary period, but can I apply to a higher GS level? For example, if I'm GS 9, receive a promotion to GS 11 at the end of probation, would i be able to apply to GS 13 roles if I'm qualified? Tried researching this for hours but only found info on applying to other agencies.

Vent: men need to keep my fertility choices out of their business. Taking a poll: 1) would you take a slight pay cut to go from litigation (ID) to business transactional work? How much of a raise do I push for going from Brand Designer to Senior Brand Designer?

I have worked in consulting for three years, worked in industry for 3 years prior to that, and have an MBA. I have the opportunity to move to a top 4 firm. What should I ask for in regards to potential promotion and/or salary bump? I don’t want to short change myself as this would be a promotion year for me at my current firm, however I find this conversations so uncomfortable. I currently make 90k base, and think I am underpaid as I am consistently put into stretch roles. Thanks for reading!

With the world we are living in now and record high inflation, how much of an increase would you ask for if you were up for a promotion? This would include going from a level 1 to a Sr. In company there are level 3s (which is entry level) up to level 1s, then senior level. The responsibilities would consist more so of being the go to person for help and guidance opposed to going to the manager of that team in the department. The pay grade starts out to be about $5k more than a level 1 initially.

So what if a consultant is at 11 lpa in EFA and her promotion year is FY 24. Will she get less hike this year ? since the range for consultant is 6-12lpa ??

When I have asked for the reason HR said Data Inputs - at Amazon we value data inputs, all 3 interview rounds were on behavioural and LP, whereever it was necessary I have given data inputs and as per me all 3 rounds went really well.
