When you upgrade your office chair [this is the Myo for anyone looking] and your coworker steals it.
Office chair recommendations appreciated for my home office. We have pets, so don’t want to splurge because things get destroyed and dirty quick. Ideally would like something functional, has good back support and stylish. Thanks! 🙏
Gaiz, any recommendations for a comfortable office chair with neck support under $300? Working from home and my back and neck are killing me, worth the investment.
What are your home office must-haves? I want to spruce up my office and have a stipend from my firm to help with office furniture and tech. I already have dual monitors, a decent webcam, and a ring light. Would love to hear others’ suggestions, especially if it helps make your life easier.
Hello RSM coworkers! I am thrilled to be moving to RSM into a Scheduler roll. I just found out yesterday and want to be as prepared as possible in the next steps.
So here are my questions.
How long does the background study take? I'm guessing admin staff have a study that is faster and less complicated than someone in Tax ect.
When training at home what did you need that wasn't supplied by RSM? My home office is well stocked but I want to be as prepared as possible.
Thanks in advance!
Anyone have suggestions for a new computer monitor?
I need something that can physically move (adjust) up and down (not tilt) as much as possible, more than 6". I've looked on Best Buy, Newegg, B&H, Amazon, etc. and haven't had much luck. Unfortunately a standing desk of any kind isn't an option. Ideally looking for something other than $500.
Thanks in advance.
Now that employees are going to WFH for a long time, what are your firms doing to help setup home office. Can you buy chair, desk, monitor or anything ergonomic to help employees
Looking for recommendations of “motorized” standing desk. Having sciatica pains from sitting down for too long. Anyone successfully got a Dr. note for this and purchased with HSA?
Microsoft sculpt ergonomic keyboard and a vertical mouse are absolute game changers…you’re welcome.
Best WFH office chair? Looking for an upgrade
Best ergonomic office chair < $300?
I’m looking into ultra wide monitors to use for home office. I thought it might be cleaner to do a dual screen instead of having two separate monitors. For this purpose, should I be looking at 32:9 ratio monitor, or is 21:9 ratio sufficient?
Should I buy a $500+ standing desk? Company not giving clarity on when WFH is ending, but I’m done sitting at my kitchen bar 15 hours a day. Is the investment worth?
Please help suggest good standing desk brand!!
Looking for a desk that can easily accommodate three monitors (2 for work and 1 personnel).. any suggestions? Would also love a sit/stand desk but don’t want to spend a ton of money at the moment. Plan to invest in a nicer desk after buying a house. I’m so indecisive on what I need i need now vs. later when i have a bigger home office
Quick question: if you are still regularly WFH since the start of the pandemic has your company compensated you in anyway for your home office? (Internet, printer, desk, etc)
What’s everyone’s favorite durable, long lasting lounge wear? I’ve held out on buying anything new thus far because I don’t want it just to get trashed at the end of this. I want to buy something quality that will hold up for a fair amount of time.
What is happening? Thought BD was doing fine
Is there any industry which is not sucking people’s life out of them and still paying good money?
I am so done with consulting.

Hi All! I’m looking to make a move. I’m currently a technical integration consultant with 5 years experience at a major ATS/HCM company. I’ve applied to 2 roles at Workday. Both are senior technical integration consultants! Any idea on what that salary range may be in the New York City region. Also does anyone know their PTO policy? Thanks!
Anyone have a sense of what analysts at buy side LS focused funds make (e.g., P72, logos, sofinnova)?
Is burning bridges when leaving (e.g. sueing, leave on bad terms), really going to have a negative impact on one's longterm career prospects or is it fear mongering/being overly cautious. Any stories?
McKinsey & Company Will McKinsey & Company have a case interview portion during the recruiter screening for an Associate-level opening. This is my first interview with them.
The recruiter mentioned that it will only be an audio (Zoom) call, not a video interview. I sort of assumed that there won't be a case interview portion because it is an audio interview with the recruiter. Is my assumption true? I don't want to ask the recruiter with the interview coming up in the next 2-3 days, as it might set a bad opinion.

Currently implementing a PM department (from the ground up) at a smaller agency. Any advice on how to deal with particularly “stubborn” account directors who don’t like you stepping on their toes?
Any experience with Nordstrom's private label? Saw a pair of shoes but unsure if the quality is worth the price.
Exit opportunities question for those with an MBA:
Do you think the quality of exit opportunities you have got is driven by your school brand or by the MBB brand?

After 3 years of getting periodic "incident reports" from daycare, many involving an unnamed child causing harm to mine (the others involve misc. injuries not inflicted by others), I would like to know the identity of the harm-inflicting child(ren). Today's report indicates that "another child" hit my son in the head with a drumstick and now he has a bump. We generally really like this daycare. Is it taboo to ask a daycare to disclose the identity of the "other child"? Continued.
Just had my first year review (about 1.25 years now at my BigLaw firm). No constructive criticism & I am “progressing as I should be.” I can’t shake feeling like I’m not though as compared to my ...
I’m a new attorney working in house for a local government and was just on a conference call with multiple departments. I was asked for my legal opinion, proceeded to give it and was interrupted and corrected by a non-attorney director. I said nothing at the time but of course fact checked myself. He was completely wrong. To add insult to injury, he called me by someone else’s name while he mansplained. How am I supposed to deal with this situation since he’s technically my superior?
I’m new to the county I practice in and am trying to get involved in different committees/groups so I can find where I fit in...but many ppl are so cliquey and groups r male dominated. Any tips?
What are some good topics for women’s affinity group discussions? Trying to brainstorm ideas for this year’s agenda for my firm’s women’s initiative. Thanks!!
I am being offered partnership in a firm that has grown significantly in the past 5 years. We went from being 6 attorneys to over 20 in 3 years and growing. I top producer in terms of origination and revenue generation. All of the equity partners and the CFO are successful white men whose wives stayed at home with their children when they were young. I am demanding 12 weeks paid maternity leave in my contract and getting push back that it’s too much. Am I asking for too much?
Going to have to really grind this year to make hours due to a variety of factors. I wouldn’t normally be worried about it but I’m due at the end of the year and at risk for premature delivery. Has anyone gone to 90% the year they took leave?
I Was out on medical leave from Jan- mid Feb due to a breast cancer diagnosis and related surgery. I’ve been very transparent with HR and the partners about my health journey. I get my evaluation and I get a 5/10 in marketing. All other areas were 7-9 rankings. I told the partner I did not think the five was reflective of my efforts and detailed the Community organizations, boards, and awards that I’ve received during a pandemic and a major health crisis. What to do?
Is a responsive email from a partner laced in profanity and all caps acceptable? How do you deal? Does this bowl allow male attorneys in (this post is about a male partner)? Within an hour of said email, I received a phone call and email from our “hr” blaming me for the response and bringing up alleged shortcomings that have never been voiced before (despite receiving feedback in a firm wide attorney meeting discussing each associates’ strengths and weaknesses).
Any legal career advisors out there? Specifically looking for someone who has experience helping new lawyers navigate the field and narrow down what practice area they would be a good fit for. Thank you!
How long does it typically take to hear back from a firm? Submitted app almost 2 weeks ago but hiring manager stated I would hear back either way.
What would you do?
Background: Woman of color, 2 years post grad. I began working as a Policy Specialist for a huge corp after graduation. I don’t love it but it’s job security, stress free, and pays the bills. I can continue in this role and earn a low 150k TC. I’m excelling; however, my ultimate goal is to practice and become Counsel.
Allegations: Several employees have alleged acts (CONTINUED IN COMMENTS BELOW)
Hi ladies - I have only done plaintiffs personal injury my entire (3 year) career. I like helping people, but I’m miserable. I don’t see things getting better when I look at the partners’ lives where I work. I don’t want to emulate their life and if I don’t see the top of my company as a place I’m inspired to strive for, then I feel I have to leave. Curious if there’s anything else out there and how I go about looking for it. (Continued below)
I hope the Depp v. Heard trial brings significant light to the damage Cluster B personalities can do and how they manipulate and lie to make others think they are in the right. If this kind of awareness is applied to the workplace, and “mean girl” bosses in particular, I think workplaces could really flourish.
Does anyone’s big law firm offer paid maternity leave for female equity partners? Or is it offered but self-funded?
Do partners/firms hate people who quit right after paid medical leave or paid maternity leave? And think that that person abused the system? (Assuming that person wants to go in house and not hopping firms)
I am moving in 3 weeks. I am panicking because there is so much to do PLUS I need to continue being a full time lawyer during all of it. I am hiring a moving company to help move everything but am also considering hiring someone to help me pack. Should I feel ashamed for not being able to do it all?
