Best ergonomic office chair < $300?

I’m looking into ultra wide monitors to use for home office. I thought it might be cleaner to do a dual screen instead of having two separate monitors. For this purpose, should I be looking at 32:9 ratio monitor, or is 21:9 ratio sufficient?

Should I buy a $500+ standing desk? Company not giving clarity on when WFH is ending, but I’m done sitting at my kitchen bar 15 hours a day. Is the investment worth?

Looking for a desk that can easily accommodate three monitors (2 for work and 1 personnel).. any suggestions? Would also love a sit/stand desk but don’t want to spend a ton of money at the moment. After 3 years of getting periodic "incident reports" from daycare, many involving an unnamed child causing harm to mine (the others involve misc. injuries not inflicted by others), I would like to know the identity of the harm-inflicting child(ren). Today's report indicates that "another child" hit my son in the head with a drumstick and now he has a bump. We generally really like this daycare. I’m a new attorney working in house for a local government and was just on a conference call with multiple departments. I was asked for my legal opinion, proceeded to give it and was interrupted and corrected by a non-attorney director. I said nothing at the time but of course fact checked myself. He was completely wrong. To add insult to injury, he called me by someone else’s name while he mansplained. How am I supposed to deal with this situation since he’s technically my superior?

I am being offered partnership in a firm that has grown significantly in the past 5 years. We went from being 6 attorneys to over 20 in 3 years and growing. I top producer in terms of origination and revenue generation. All of the equity partners and the CFO are successful white men whose wives stayed at home with their children when they were young. I am demanding 12 weeks paid maternity leave in my contract and getting push back that it’s too much. Am I asking for too much?

Going to have to really grind this year to make hours due to a variety of factors. I wouldn’t normally be worried about it but I’m due at the end of the year and at risk for premature delivery. Has anyone gone to 90% the year they took leave?

I Was out on medical leave from Jan- mid Feb due to a breast cancer diagnosis and related surgery. I’ve been very transparent with HR and the partners about my health journey. I get my evaluation and I get a 5/10 in marketing. All other areas were 7-9 rankings. I told the partner I did not think the five was reflective of my efforts and detailed the Community organizations, boards, and awards that I’ve received during a pandemic and a major health crisis. What to do?

Is a responsive email from a partner laced in profanity and all caps acceptable? How do you deal? Does this bowl allow male attorneys in (this post is about a male partner)? Within an hour of said email, I received a phone call and email from our “hr” blaming me for the response and bringing up alleged shortcomings that have never been voiced before (despite receiving feedback in a firm wide attorney meeting discussing each associates’ strengths and weaknesses).

I hope the Depp v. Heard trial brings significant light to the damage Cluster B personalities can do and how they manipulate and lie to make others think they are in the right. If this kind of awareness is applied to the workplace, and “mean girl” bosses in particular, I think workplaces could really flourish.
