I’m currently working as a design lead at IBM and am looking for opportunities outside of the company. I’ve received feedback on my cover letter and resume from senior male colleagues, but I would greatly appreciate the perspective of a female in a leadership position, if anyone is willing to provide feedback. (Particularly anyone in the UX / Design Strategy field).

Thank you!

Just let go from a 40 hour per week consulting position where I learned they were paying other consultants 3-4x more per hour. They still really like my work, trust me, and want to work with me on an as-needed basis. I want to charge them an hourly rate similar to all the other consultants. Thoughts? Is this a reasonable course of action? And if so, how would I go about this to get the compensation I want?

Hi fishes, is the company Applaudo studios genuine? I don't find any offices in India, but they are hiring for the Karnataka region.

You are absolutely going to see a range based on agency and media vertical. At the AD level, there should be the ability to lead a client engagement and supervise a few analysts.

In most cases the technical skills would be uber fluency in Excel and some of SQL, SAS, Tableau/Quik, Python, etc. Fluency in one type of media and working knowledge of another. A working knowledge of statistics and ability to do in depth analysis (solve unknown problems)

You will see some ADs who have come from client side or strategy roles (or even media roles) without the technical chops. It is what they make of the role and the team they are surrounded by - it can be good if they empower their team or it can be a disaster.

I am new to the Product Management role. The role itself is new at our company and no one internally really has experience with it so am getting conflicting information.

Where do Product Managers usually fall on the org structure? Everyone is telling me it's more of a business role, however, I am currently a PM in IT and actually managing not just the product but a team of 5 software devs. What are the industry expectations of the role?

I love my job and the company that I've been working on for a year. My boss is great and the culture is very product focused. There's been tremendous learning for which I'm very grateful.
The only sticking point is that my compensation increase this year was 4% which isn't ideal since inflation has been so high it feels like a pay cut. I know I should change my job and to get ahead of the market. But it sucks to change jobs where I've enjoyed working so much and getting to learn a lot too.

Our company went through an exercise of redefining product roles - from business analyst, product owner, product manager to assoc pm, pm, senior pm etc.
The concept is everyone with same skills - with different competency levels.
My question is - what about interest? I am energized by execution, not so much strategy. Is product management for me, or should I be looking at other career paths?
Note: I am not overly ambitious, but do want to have a good salary for my retirement savings😉

I just took over a SAAS product where I own P&L with 800 B2B clients with so much customization that it feels like 800 versions of the product.
