Hi y’all, I am a Design Strategist at a Minneapolis AD agency. I have 3 years of Ad experience, switched from corporate environment. If this year taught me anything it’s not to be surprised. After George Floyd I can’t help but judge my environment and how senseless and apathetic non-BIPOC people can be to our realities. A whole pandemic going on, a few days away from the election and I got laid off. I’m a Black woman with a strong work ethic, if anyone has career advice please share. Thank you!
I'm going through a similar experience, having gotten laid off twice during the pandemic. It sucks right now but take care of yourself. Especially in the hours when you'd usually be working. Reach out to old connections - phone calls/coffees have been helpful, personally. It gets better!
Thank you for that reminder, self care is important. I’m sorry to hear you were laid off twice. It really sucks, I’m hopeful we will find something new again. ❤️
