After George Floyd I can’t help but judge my environment and how senseless and apathetic non-BIPOC people can be to our realities. I’ve done PI work my entire career for over 10 years. I’ve worked in state and federal courts and I’ve traveled around the country doing MDL work and bellwether trials. I work on a consulting team at a large software company. I’m a job hopper, around 2 years each at my first and second jobs and a little over a year at this job. I recently found out they’re shutting my team down. We’re not fired, but they’re transferring us to the core implementation team, which has a horrible reputation for malignancy, overworking, and isn’t at all what I was hired to do. It’s definitely going to be a pay cut coming from big law but I do get some nice equity in the company. Is the jump worth it? Are you aware of the CPA exam credit extension to 2021 for NY CPA candidates impacted by COVID19? It’s on a person-by-person basis and you need to request the extension. Has anyone tried doing this yet? Can anyone shine more light on this? The extension would really help me, but I’m not sure what more to tell them in my email than the fact that I couldn’t sit for the exams this Spring/Summer due to test centers closing in NYC.

I have a low GPA because an abusive relationship during my schooling that kept me from focusing. I’m clear of that now, but I don’t know how to explain my low GPA going forward.

How much should I charge a friend to watch 4 dogs at their home over Christmas weekend (2 nights)? The dogs don't have any special needs or medications. I've dog sat for other people in the past but always for free. I also have had dogs of my own for most of my life. I want to start charging people for my services but also want to be reasonable since this is a friend and don't plan to charge a holiday fee. We live in St. Louis. I’ve brought this up a few times and was told HR would do research into salary equity, but the convo always fades.
