My aunt and uncle have always have cavaliers. They are very much companion dogs and like being around their owner(s). From what they’ve told me, they have to be groomed semi-regularly and need to be exercised decently as they’re prone to ballooning out and becoming overweight. They’re such sweet dogs and my aunt and uncle have adored having them. They never put them in daycare so can’t speak to that. I know their dogs did get very upset when boarded, but that can vary from dog to dog.
I have a cavapoo. She does not like daycare. We took her once and she was so stressed. She loves humans, but not other dogs (unless we are there). We have to ask our friend group to watch if we are traveling.
at the end of the day, overnight care is one of the hardest parts of owning a dog. some dogs do better than others in boarding situations.
