If you leave early in career you can go to tech or industry, mid level colleagues leave for mba or industry, after a certain point doesn’t make sense to leave as you’re almost at partner but those that can’t make partner go to industry

helpful

ZS1 is right. Regarding why - here are a few of my reasons: 1. Culture - very collaborative and friendly - I have quite a few people in my office whom I genuine call friends and we hang out together on the weekends. (Mind you I don't have much to compare with though) 2. Limited travel - pre-corona we didn't do 4 days on-site at a client site, I could go on for weeks or even months with almost no travel. 3. Increased responsibility - based on anecdotal evidence from my friends in other consulting companies I feel that in ZS you get more responsibility at each level Here is why you should consider not staying: 1. Fractional staffing - even at Junior levels you would have 2-3 projects typically. At post-MBA level it's not uncommon to manage 4-5 projects + a few internal initiatives. 2. Pay - lower than most T2 shops 3. Industry - you should not stay unless you really like Pharma/MedTech

smart

@ZS2, If you compare us to S&, LEK, Kearney then no - I have no clue about OW

Most people stay long due to a very collaborative culture. Most frequent exit option is to associate director / Director / higher roles in Pharma

Hi D&A 🐟, I’ve been thinking of doing a career pivot from cyber security to data science. My current role is very technical and have experience with Python, PowerShell, AWS (SAA cert), Azure (Security Engineer cert in progress), and a bunch of other cyber security related technical skills. I have experience doing basic data analysis but not at the level of a data scientist. What would you recommend I do to gain these data scientist skills? I think the end goal would be to transition from cybe

I recently went through an interview process for an investment banking role at a well respected mid market bank. I had two rounds of interviews, and the second round was with two VPs. All interviews went very well - conversation was great, and I got enthusiastic verbal feedback during and at the conclusion of each interview. It’s been three weeks and I have heard nothing, even after 2 follow ups to HR. I saw on LinkedIn they hired 2 people. I assume I got rejected - thoughts? What do I do next?

How is the risk practice at MBB? Do you work on the same work as big 4 risk? Where do most people come from.. ie ex big 4, internally trained, ex bankers etc. What would help a candidate from a big 4 risk transition to a position in risk at mbb? I'm going to be entering a big 4 in risk, but would like to switch to mbb at some point in my life.
