High performers - what is your dialy routine from time you wake up until you go to sleep? How do you remain highly productive day in and day out?

I think routine is key, and get enough sleep and exercise (boring answer). I get up at 5:30, and try to be at work around 6-6:30. I start by biking to work 15-20min and eat my breakfast at my desk while browsing through newsletters (10-15min). Then I use the next hours to do everything that has to be done, before everyone else start their day with "plz fix"-emails following. And, if you have the opportunity, delegate stuff that are out of your area/below your grade. Throughout the day, if focus is dropping, take little time outs and just stretch your legs, but be sure to pull yourself together if these time outs work as excuses for slacking off rather than actually getting you back in focus.

I set the alarm for 6:45, but don’t roll out of bed until 7:30 ish. Spend the 45 minutes looking at my phone or listening to music / solving puzzle games. I’ll shower and brush my teeth and skip breakfast. Get to work by like 8:15 or 8:30 while most other people roll in by 9 or 9:30. Work all day but look at my phone throughout the day with little micro breaks, hard staying focused. I’ll leave work by like 6:30 or 7 most nights when not I’m busy season. Oh yeah, lunch is at my desk too. Gym is usually only on the weekends. When I get home it’s usually only a couple of hours to myself, which I’ll spend feeding myself and taking care of the dog. I’ll be in bed by like 10:30 or 11.

It’s about managing the perception of high performance that makes the difference - I’m sure there are people out there who are smarter, better, faster than me, but if you aren’t able to make sure leadership sees your work and value and speediness then it’s all for not

Ending a long Monday with another light Irish single malt. Knappogue Castle has noticeable banana notes. I’ve visited the castle and interestingly there is no connection to the whiskey beyond the naming rights. The whiskey is mostly sold abroad and not really available in Ireland, but it’s still quite nice and very sippable before or after dinner.

Does anyone have recommendations on an approach to get frequent feedback on employee sentiment across your teams?

I lead a global team of ~70 and growing. Most of the team is deployed to major company initiatives and pressure is high. We do big annual employee surveys, but I'm looking for good ways to get more regular feedback at scale.
