Do we have to wear formals in Airbus ?
I just got an email from a recruiter from Google!

He said that the position is in the Bay Area or New York. I haven’t replied the email. I don’t think we can move to those cities, but I don’t want to lose this opportunity. Does anyone know if Google does remote jobs within US?

If a student of mine is absent and do not complete the work or receive it, they ask me. Done.
Assignments are posted online but I’m not recording anything. Students can get notes from a classmate or ask me directly. They have to start becoming more independent sometime.

The teachers should be posting their assignments online.
I post everything online. Agenda for each day. Notes we took whether filled in or just handwritten notes or textbook sections (i only have one class set of textbooks).
I post the practice we did in class and homework (is optional and for extra points on bellringers.).
Absent students check the agenda, they do the class practice for participation points and any assignments they missed. Everything is named as it appears in my gradebook.
Since I teach hs my bellringers and some of my quizzes are online and students upload the work and submit it. And i also collect the paperwork in case a file didnt upload.
That way I see who is missing work.
I started this 2 yrs before COVID hit, to eliminate excuses.
This is why it's so important to establish a rapport with students. I work hard at this so that my students feel comfortable coming to me if they need help with anything. I keep a few copies of my notes handy and always make extra time to help them get caught up if they need to.
Would it really be so hard to just provide the resources for your students? If my kids ever need anything, I would want to be the first person they approach, especially if their absence was out of their control.
I post all assignments in Google Classroom.
I actually avoided learning GC, hoping to finish out my career without having to learn a bunch of new tricks. But Covid forced my hand, and I have to say, it was the only good thing that came out of the pandemic as far I personally am concerned. It's great!
I use an LMS (learning management system) to post and receive assignments. Best transition ever! All of the links are embedded in the assignment so that kids can access from anywhere 24/7. When we do hands-on activities or demonstrations we collect data and post photos and/or videos of the activity. I have had kids on the other side of the planet still working along with their class, just in a different time zone. I actually have the opposite problem. I have kids that are out sick and they are still working instead of resting. I have to remind them that their priority is to rest and get better.
All of my video lessons and assignments are posted online. My issue is getting the students to take ownership and actually watch the lesson and ask questions.
Everything we do in class is also online.

It is the teachers job to provide opportunities to learn even if the student is absent.
Please encourage your child to advocate for themselves.
I recommend having them do it by email and ask them to cc you.
If the teacher doesn't offer them an opportunity to get the education that they missed while absent, then you can reach out to the teacher.
PS teach your kid how to ask in a semi-professional way first please.
That is why it's also important to make good friends during high school. However, it would the prerogative of the teacher to prepare for contingencies like this. It should be in the handbook if I am not mistaken
I do presentations/powerpoints. All of my powerpoints are available on Google Classroom so students can access and make their own notes.
Doesn't their school have an online portal where they could get resources for every subject? Including links of documents and even the presentation? We have an LMS and it's the most convenient thing ever.
After Covid and teacher turnover, it’s not required. It’s use it if you want to.
They should at least give some resources. It's already hard for students to catch up.
