Accounting is a profession but it is also a skillset. You don't have to work as an accountant with an accounting background. That may open your options like consulting that was mentioned, project management, ops etc All the best!

Looking to transition to a career in sales. Have been in Learning & Development for last 7 years. Eventually would love to blend the two but seems like the best way to do that would be getting more experience in sales. Does anyone have advice on where to look next? So far I’ve completed a sales training academy and over the summer got sales experience helping a coach scale their coaching program. Looking for full time opps with corporate company now.

I've been working in cosmetics mainly on the customer service side, currently senior support for the CS team and have experience doing CS on social media.

Applied for a role internally and feedback from 1st round interview was positive. However, I was told there’s strong external competition who have more experience in the field and likely to get the job. Hiring manager told me to consider a different open role in the team where I’d be a much better fit. The other role isn’t exactly what I was hoping for but could be a foot in the door. Has anyone had similar experiences? I don’t know whether to abandon this completely or remain persistent. Thx!
