Hi IBM sharks 🦈
So I got interviewed for a project by the IBM team. The interviewer told me that its a go ahead from their end, now the client will assess my profile and if they too are fine with it, I will be onboarded?
Is it true that we have client interview as well? If yes then after how many days of interview by IBM team, client interview takes place?
Or its just that if the IBM team is fine with it, we are selected for the project?
Any inputs on this will really help :)
Is this still a thing?

Meant as a joke as many are on beck and call 24/7. Anyhow, I think you’ll find that those that work the least tend to make less. The key to me is to find what you enjoy doing and then work to find balance in your life.
Answer: a non compliance driven group)
Tax tech: will have tech application plus tax technical knowledge
M & A Tax: at least at the pwc office near me, the avg utilization for staff is in the 60% range (for reference firm metric is 75% or so)
Int'l tax: similar to above as it is specialized group with less compliance than others, still have some of course in the mix.
Tldr: specialty groups with less compliance and project based hours will have less annual utilization
I would love to switch to full time International. Are y’all hiring staff?
Tax tech
Don’t look to international for the lowest hours! Phone calls at odd hours due to time differences, extremely technical and so staff may have lower chargeability but not mgrs and up. Mostly consulting and so have to re-sell most of your work again the next year. Very interesting, meet lots of cool people and highly paid/ in high demand but don’t go into it thinking low hours! You will be sorely disappointed!
Someone with lots of IT experience
Depends on office, like with any firm. We have a lot of great consulting work in my office and an awesome WNT group. Our tax reform books and other WNT info widely recognized as excellent. same with our tax reform tool. I was with DT for years and I would put our WNT up against anyone.
Tax tech, that’s a no-brainer.
Agreed with EY1, as someone in tax tech. You just have to travel more

That’s just not true at KPMG at all.
Kind of a Slacker question. You have to put in the work..... it’s a career not a job.
Not all hours are equal. I'd rather put in 60 hours of intense, technical, and highly valued work than 100 hours of commoditized, routine work. The former also frequently pays more than the latter because of the value proposition for clients. The high performers you listed didn't spend 100 hours a week doing low value work. They reserved their efforts for high-value work.
