Any good recommended books on how to build a scalable product and team? Impact of big 4 consulting in an data engineering career.

I recently started at one of the big 4 as a DE. So far I have seen some pretty poor coding practice, lack of version control and taking short cut everywhere. Every one also highly prefer no code ETL tool. I am a little worried that this environment is bad for a DE career.

Just wondering if this is just my project or is or project like that? I am considering switching after a few more months.

Is there any process to match pay as per the grade in Cap after few years of service I still feel pay is low based on my experience as per market standards considering I am poc for the project from offshore, nominated for onshore in process, handling team entire team n process from offshore, skilled professionals in functional and automation testing with 10 years experience.

After 3.5 years agency side and now 1.5 years client side, I'm not sure which the client made worse. Instead of email, the incapable brand managers now sit next to me and are more annoying than ever😭

Is it common in the industry for licensed insurance agents to not get any commissions on a referral in which you personally write the policy? Ex: If a current client refers a prospect to our team, I would not receive commission. Additionally, if I write a policy for friends/family I would get a small incentive but it’s a fraction of the commission producers make.
Management is considering changing this going forward. However, I’m not sure how I should react if they keep things how they are now.

For startup founders/people with a successful side project: How did you get the idea/inspiration for your business? I’m currently working at a Series B startup and my end goal has always been to found my own startup, but I graduated from college 2.5 years ago and I still have not had any great ideas cross my mind.
