I day dream about exiting to a real estate development roles. Has anyone exited or know someone who has into a development role in their community?

Getting ready to negotiate salary at Slalom as it’s time to stay home! Targeting a senior management consultant role. How much can I reasonably expect? Tier 2 City.

Opening up a unique concept coffee shop, with office space and other amenities. What should I know about the startup of a coffee shop? Expenses? Biggest challenges? When you rent or own a building, what are advantages? What are the rules to leasing a space to occupants? I have about $20k and not sure how much more money I need to operate. What are some important questions I’m not asking that I should be asking?

I have an oppty to switch careers but worried about the $$$ I’m letting go. My current situation is:
- 200k base + options (~$30k/year)
- valuation is $2b (pre-ipo)
- Great chance of making a lot of money after it goes public in about 6-7 months
- Joined the company 3 months ago so I haven’t vested any options yet
- Role is non-Product Manager

Got this offer:
- 180k base + options (0.12%}
- valuation is $100m
- Series A, so very far from exit/IPO
- Role is Product Manager (what I’m pivoting to)

It’s been a grueling 18 months, for everyone. There’s a unique story I’d like to share and it’s my own but I have to believe it’s not only mine. I was privileged enough to be able to WFH during the pandemic and change jobs to a fully remote job during this time. The isolation has become so complete, with the lack of connection and professional rapport or daily respect/clarity thru slack convos and sporadic zoom - I’m at an all time mental low barely able to start this Monday morning.

Just found out my mentor is leaving my company. As if this isn’t bad enough, one of my male peers that has been at the company longer than I have been is being promoted to fill her role - no questions asked. We have about the same amount of experience and I will soon be reporting into him. I am...not stoked. Am I being a baby or does this suck as bad as I think it’s going to?

Hi mamas, I’m 28 and have wanted to be a mom honestly since I was a toddler! Lately my hormones have been surging and I just cannot stop thinking about getting pregnant. What is the salary for a Scientist II Microbiology at Merck? I think a contractor is hiring me for 75-85k, but when I look on glassdoor for the Merck site it is like $37 to $56/hr. What do I do? Is there any way I can get directly hired from Merck to get higher money?
