Hi. Does anyone know what kind of work being a solution architect entails? Haven’t seen this job a ton in the ecosystem so curious if anyone here has experience working with this role, and $$ ranges?
Any recommended books, trainings, skills for transitioning from consulting to chief of staff role? The role is loosely defined but overall expect to be focused on strategic growth/ corp dev, exec / investor and all company communication, conflict resolution and the like. Also appreciate learning points from those who already transitioned to a similar role.

A friend gave me a referral to a big tech company and a recruiter contacted shortly with a prep doc containing info on what to prep on, the interview format, what type of questions, etc. Before reviewing the prep doc, I confirmed my interest and booked a call but now I feel I am not ready yet although I really want the job. I want to apply after 6 months. What can I do to skip the interview without jeopardizing my future chances?? Please help!
Point blank: if you want to join a tech firm, please prepare to get (at least somewhat) technical. This “how do make $300k at FAANG using only PowerPoint “ is getting old
Would love to hear others’ experience working in single family offices. I’m considering a move from public (tax) to a senior tax or accounting role in one.

How do you politely turn down a job offer or back out of interview at last step without burning bridges? After meeting the hiring manager and stakeholders I don’t think we’re a good fit. This job also requires relocation. I don’t want to take a job and uproot my life for something that isn’t the right fit. I’m currently unemployed so feeling a bit desperate but also don’t want to move for something that isn’t right. Thanks!
What is the average salary right now for an experienced associate moving into a senior role? I’ve got offers from RSM, SSF, CohnReznick, and Grant Thornton. I know the market is hot right now, how hard should I push to get a high paying salary? Also, what is a good sign on bonus?

This general strike talk has really got me re-evaluating my whole career. I can’t complain about compensation, I’m paid well, I have benefits, and I have a roof over my head. But the work life balance and unsustainable productivity expectations that have been created by agencies that won’t say no to clients needs to change. We place/create ads to turn millionaires into billionaires while we’re treated terribly. Something’s gotta give. I don’t know a single person who isn’t burnt out right now
Anyone have an ergonomic desk chair that they love? In the market for one and overwhelmed by all the choices.

Looking at EY for Sr Manager level role. I see that 401k match is low. But they have a pension plan. Can anyone throw some light on how it works ? Is it worth it? How do the contributions grow over 2, 5, 10 years ?
On a call with a partner helping a F500 and he’s talking about ways to chop benefits costs and shift employees to cheaper healthcare plans that cover less and how to spin it as a good thing. Even made
Thoughts about freelancing someone after you interview them as a trial run? Part of me feels like it’s an obvious way to really get to know how someone works, in a way you never would from just interviews. But I don’t want to commit a faux pas by asking. And I guess it would bias me towards those who are currently not full-time and are able to freelance.
I enjoy working at my agency, but received a good offer elsewhere. Has anyone had luck with their current agency matching or beating the other potential role/salary?
Hey brothers and sisters, what’s the Best fitness SPG Hotel in Manhattan? Looking for free weights, bench press / smith machine, dumbbell with 60–8 lbs etc.. Thanks a lot!
NY associate here and currently telecommuting from Texas—was just hired on. I am trying to avoid NY taxes by just getting HR to change me “working out of” my firm’s Houston or Dallas office. Has anyone had success doing this or avoiding NY taxes through the NY home office rules?
Looking for advice: does part time MBA opens the same doors as full time? I work in DC area and on a visa. Don't think I can work full time and study full time as well. Thinking of applying next year, but let's see.
Best place to buy a good budget office chair that is fully returnable? I’m super picky and though lots of reviews online help, I know nothing will be better than sitting on it in person. However so so many of the top rated budget chairs are ship only and have restocking fees. Thoughts?
If you have 5-6 days...what all national parks and other places would you check out during your road journey from Vegas to San Jose?
