Currently in a rotational program at EY (first year out of undergrad). Got placed on a long term risk project and wondering if it’s worth it staying long term. Currently interviewing for the strategy team at a legacy payments company (think visa or Mastercard) and wondering if it’ll stifle growth doing internal consulting. Would definitely appreciate any insights on this as I’m not too sure who who talk to and ask. Thanks!
Pro se plaintiff, an attorney, filed a complaint alleging mold defects after closing on a property. Client, layperson, may have agreed orally to a settlement amount without proof of damages prior to filing appearance and obtaining an attorney. Client filed appearance pro se, then plaintiff sent over a draft settlement agreement few weeks later which client didn’t sign. Client then got an attorney, filed answer, etc. Can this oral agreement be voided for coercion, indefinite mat’l term, etc?
W+K is a talented company, but it doesn't matter what shop wins the Ford account. The problem lies within Ford. OEMs are the worst client, because of the siloed bureaucracy that exists.
Have no qualms with leaving my firm, but having to tell the best client in my 6 year career that I'm quitting at a critical time has me anxious. Any tips on the break-up?
Sales Engineer to Client Partner , do you guys think it is a step up or down or about the same level ? Currently a SE and received an offer for Client Partner with a different company and thinking will my career progress with this move or is it just a parallel step ? Any inputs will be great.
Going to tell Leadership this week that I want to be rolled off. Another project has requested me and that project is better aligned to my career. Any advice to have a smooth conversation?
TFW when your SM announces to the team that your manager is leaving the project while the manager is out on PTO. -_-
Have you fishes often felt not adding much value? I am experiencing this very often. Felt like the client can figure it out without me. Thoughts?
I just barely started at my firm and got staffed on a project which requires travel. My firm only allows me to expense hotels on a personal card, everything else goes on the corporate Amex. I’ve had a venture one card for 2 years now but am thinking about getting the chase sapphire reserve. Kind of lost here - any advice?
when does BCG plan to return to office/client sites? specifically in the US. will training be in person? I'm vaccinated so would prefer not to wfh
Have you ever negotiated your travel schedule? N00b to being in the road and PPD wants me to do a 10hr west to east coast flight plus a few hours driving to get to client site.
What to do when your counselor is also your stream lead on the project, and he wouldn’t let you roll off because you’re top performer. I’m over one year in on this multi year implementation project
My paralegal prepared stock certificates for a client and one was typed with the wrong name. These are pre-numbered stock certificates. How do I fix the name on the certificate since it's already been typed-up?
While everyone’s situation is unique, it appears to me that there is a general (and substantive) difference between the mindset of senior execs/partners (Gen Xers) and the Gen Z/Millennial troops as to the need to head back to the office. There is a world of difference between “the office” as code for “client lunches, rounds of golf” vs “needless commuting time that will eat into a working day that is already unsustainable”. Do you feel your organization is in touch with where you are?
How strict is the requirement for Stern that one recommendation come from a current supervisor? Would my project partner be appropriate? I’ve got a great relationship with them but they’re obviously not managing me on a day to day basis.
on PTO today. ate a gummy after lunch. remembered right after it kicked in that i had a client presentation in 15 minutes. with the cmo 🙃
Security guard at client site reception, dictating a text message: "working like a runaway slave." Later, to me: "have you ever worked liked that, sir?" 😨
Small town teachers....how do you get past the insulation? I can’t talk to anyone in my district about issues I’m having with admin because it’s a small town & they cover each other and gaslight you. The school district only cares about their PR and has vague policies that keep us from saying against them, yet we can’t say anything TO them either. My union rep is trying to help but she also said that it’s all too common for small towns. They always win & you just have to suck it up or get fired.
I need a deck on House of Cards' lessons learned on how to apply the Underwood's strategies and scheming in consulting.
Joined Infy as a SACON - almost 2 weeks back.. currently on bench.. what are the implications of being of bench ? Manager asked to send resume post that no response.. what to do?
Is it true that anyone moving from Big 4 strat groups to MBB has to accept a downgrade in level/title? As in SM/Director/Sr. Dir to engagement mgr/PL. Do you know of people who moved without a "demotion?
MBB folks on H1-B who recently switched to FAANG - did you run into any issues with visa transfer? My transfer has been filed and I’m a bit nervous about USCIS’ perception of consultants and the current sentiment around H1-B visas.
I had a referral at bcg and was told recruiting would reach out if I was qualified if I’m not will I be notified or just left in the dark
Le Méridien or Sheraton at Saigon/HCM? LM is 10 minutes walk away from everything else. Is Sheraton the better choice then? Traveling with mom and pop for context.
One of the SMs is supporting my promotion case but they are lately trying to micromanage me and ask all nagging questions unnecessarily. Unsure how to handle this professionally.
How are other districts compensating you for working over your contracted time? I’m not taking just over. I’m taking about 13+ hour work days, every day.
Hi folks.. just wanted to know the levels of promotion and progression in ey gds wfa. I joined as senior consultant. How will my advancements to next level would look like. Also, how about the hikes...??
Experiences on switching departments? I’m a mid level AD thinking that I would fit better a strategy team. But start over and be a junior again? Get a lower salary? 🙄 Would love to hear some stories 🙏🏻
CDC has advised against gathering of more than 10 people for at least 8 weeks: does this mean our mandated wfh is going to stay at least till then? Not complaining just curious. 8wks - May 1st week
(This is kind of an ad, but I started the bowl, so here ya go...) Alright, friends, I'm a huge fan of the Southwest Companion Pass. I've had it for 3 years, and have gotten LOTS of free flights out of it! This year, Southwest/Chase have made it so much easier to earn the Companion Pass by raising the credit card sign-on bonuses. I would be posting this even if I didn't get a bonus from it, because it's been so great and such a money saver. (Continued in comments)
For someone coming from an accounting background, what would be a good role to switch to in marketing. I heard Marketing Strategy can be an option. P.S. The person has an MBA and Marketing Certificate
Say that you live in country A. You apply to a job in company X in country B (connecting with a director through LinkedIn). 4/5 days after a recruiter talks to you for a position in company X but in country A. You strongly prefer country B over A, so you state clearly to HR that you're willing to be part of the process only if you can also interview in B. You do not bring this up again and are in last round for X in country A. You have not heard back yet from B but prefer it. WWYD?
New hire in west coast here, talked to a MD in the office when I was on the bench and he got me staffed on one of his projects, should I email saying thank you for the opportunity or ping him.
Fishes, Facebook reached out for a interview. I am on h1-b and wanted to understand if they are sponsoring GC amidst everything that is going on with the company? Thinking if I should even try.
