Thoughts on Carnegie Mellon’s MBA program (Tepper)? Seems very underrated, with a ton of smart kids ...
Mba hires, are you jealous of your ug hire coworkers? I mean they’re doing it younger and have the flexibility to not pay for the mba
Hi Ladies, Hope you are all keeping safe. I am an African lady who got admitted (Full ride) to a Top 7 MBA program. I am looking to break into MBB strategy consulting. Can you ladies help me prep?
Booz Allen: sorry for the repost but I need to add details. 4 years consulting experience, MBA, doing general management consulting. Need info so I can negotiate my salary increase.
Has anyone taken the CISA while on lockdown and can speak to the virtual testing experience?
Anyone can share insights on what is the average salary raise and bonus at Grant Thornton and Moody's investors service? Also, what should be the salary expectation range for a 6+ YOE, MBA, CFA ,FRM for New York Location in the financial services industry?
I’ve been working in the HR space and am interested in pursuing an MBA to transition into Human Capital consulting/ Change management/ Talent technology and analytics. I’ve been seeing a few T30 schools that have a focus in those areas including Vanderbilt, Rice, BYU etc. Would it be better to pursue an MBA program highly ranked in that concentration area or to try to get into a school ranked higher overall? Thanks!
If I want to jump to strat consulting, Corp strat, or top MBA from tech consulting, does a strategy rotation program sound like a good idea or is it a step backward? Currently senior analyst (cont)
People on FishBowl be like: “Hey 🐠, I’m 33 and just got a $2.5 million inheritance. I’m thinking about going back to get my MBA, but I also want to retire and move to a foreign country. Also just found out my wife’s been cheating on me with my brother. What should I name my first born child? 😀”
Anybody did the apics certification in logistics ? I have the choose between the cslp and cscp but not sure which one I should be doing
Anyone in strategy/account consider an MBA? Would it be worth 2 years if I came back to advertising after 🤔
Do MBA start classes usually become friends? When I started at D out of undergrad it seemed like a large number of us in the office became friends and hung outside work. Is this similar to office start classes out of MBA?
Can somebody please explain to me why MBB and other top consulting firms are so adamant that you have an MBA? I majored in accounting, finance, and operations management at a top 10 undergrad business school and then got my masters in information systems from the grad school program. I took multiple MBA courses as electives when getting my masters and it seemed like those classes were very basic and easy. Idk if I would learn anything in an MBA program that I hadn’t already learned in undergrad
Early 30s, have an MPH and am thinking about getting an MBA; however i need to work part time and am considering online given the current crisis, but not sure if it’s worth the investment, especially since MBA programs involve networking. Does it really make an impact on your earning potential?
Has anyone been able to get into BCG without an MBA? I would be at the PL level, coming from a Big4 firm.
Best certification program for blockchain ?
I am currently in sales (less than a year in) and would like to eventually transition to trading. What’s the best way to go about it? I should have my CFA by the end of the year and also planning to do a more technical qualification next year. Would it make sense to consider masters/MBA?
I've been working towards a T10 mba since before I graduated from undergrad. Hustled at work to get early promotions and the best projects. This allowed me to go from $60k to $115k TC at 1 YOE. Founded a student org at my UG serving URM and stayed involved after graduating, personally mentoring close to 100 students over 4 years since graduating, and the org itself serving around 2000 URM since its inception. 169V 160Q on the GRE Dinged with no interview at HSW Kellogg Booth last R1 (cont)
Hi Tax Bowlers, I'm an experienced associate (2yrs) in a Big 4 Transfer Pricing division. I have reached a point in my career where I am considering taking up a professional certification. Several colleagues recommended taking up either ACCA or CFA, however, I see little connection between these certifications and the work that I am currently doing, and what I plan to do in the future. What would you guys suggest? Would it be detrimental to my career if I did not take up any certifications?
Does MBB have a strong presence in the DC area?
New manager here. My extension for H1b is coming up, should i go for the managerial role or the specialized knowledge individual category? Based on the times I want to go for the strongest case.
I got a partner referral to MBB and am expecting to get a first round interview invite in several weeks. Unfortunately I've never done a real case in my life. How should I prepare?
Fishes, looking for recommendations on growing business development and sales skills. Finding and growing pipelines, establishing marketing materials, closing sales, and similar for services. I have on the job experience within consulting but never any formal training or education. Entering a new role where I'll need to build organizational capabilities from scratch. Any recommendations on programs, certificates, courses, books, or other similar ideas would be greatly appreciated. TIA!
Anyone else seriously struggling with going back to the office? I’m going in three days a week and my mental health is… not great. I’m constantly miserable when there.
On the bench but putting in my notice in two weeks. Any reason to look for projects, PD work, etc? Or should I just chill?
Why are they so obsessed with talking about cancel culture? Every single speaker has brought it up
Pros/cons of going from a big 4 firm to a national, regional or advisory specific firm at a higher level? Is it worth it?
I currently work in a hybrid sales/marketing role. However, I would love more experience in marketing specifically so I can move in to a marketing specific role. Does anyone have a suggestion of books or articles, podcasts, organizations to follow that will allow me to stay up to date on the latest trends but also help prepare for a marketing centric role? Thank you
Do you have a way of receiving anonymous feedback? We do “speak up live” but are thinking about an anonymous feedback form (google form?). we are a small company so not looking for software we need to pay for etc.

Clearly PwC is Gryffindor, Deloitte is Slytherin - How about EY and KPMG? I'm feeling EY is Ravenclaw, but also saw people saying colors don't match... Thoughts? Bonus: Is BDO = Muggles?
Despite the rosy rhetoric from Corporate America, the truth remains: last hired/first fired. https://m.huffpost.com/us/entry/us_5f5fa3c0c5b68d1b09c5eabc
Nothing puts puts me in a better mood than waking up to an email from my CD nit picking copy that they, the ECD, legal, accounts, client, and client’s boss have already approved multiple times.
