Why would you WANT to work for someone who makes you feel like a shithead over something totally normal

like

I had the same thing happen. You have to do what’s best for you, and focus on the people who are happy for you. It’s hard though.

Well... Looks like you have another reason to leave now

That’s their job to make you feel like a shit head, but doesn’t mean that you are; don’t succumb to the negative pressure. Your job is to look out for your own best interest.

You got to look out for you at the end of the day. It happened to a friend of mine where a coworker started freaking out about how much work that individual was going to have to do because of the absence of my friend. It was crazy!!!

In the past I’ve wrongly thought that forgiveness brings restoration of relationships. But reconciliation requires everyone involved to respond -which is beyond our control. Forgiveness says I’m canceling that debt- it’s my marker & I’m tearing it up. I’m putting myself in Gods hands -Justice comes from Him. We mistakenly think that forgiveness is weakness as if we just capitulated. Forgiveness isn’t a sign of weakness- It takes strength to forgive. God tells us to forgive.

Crossposted. Looking for advice. I’ve got 10+ years as an attorney and have been trying to go in house for over a year. I have a generalist background (although I’m primarily a litigator) and was a partner at an Amlaw 100 firm. I’ve had my resume reviewed and keep getting great feedback. Not getting many interviews and when I do, I’m not getting offers despite positive interviews. How do I differentiate myself? Should I get some sort of certification or specialty? This is getting depressing.

I am only 4 months into working at my current firm. I already know it isn’t a good long-term fit because it is tech consulting. As a recent Finance graduate who interned in Corporate Treasury at a bank, I want to work for a firm with a stronger focus on management, strategy, financial services, or m&a consulting. Looking for an entry level analyst/associate role. If you work at a firm with a strong presence in any of these areas and know about an role that can be a good fit, please let me know!

Additional Posts in Accounting Exit Opportunities

Curious to know about the process of leaving PwC or another big four. I signed an offer letter today and plan on putting in my notice when we get back from the break. What happens when I put in my notice? Also, will they have me leave that day if I am going to another PA firm (though it is a niche firm, so not really a competitor). Thanks!

I expecting to receive an offer letter this afternoon and to walkthrough it with the hiring managers. I will also have a phone call with HR later this week for any additional questions. I gave my expected salary range (pretty wide and aggressive) during the interview process but haven’t talked specifics. I assume negotiations happen with HR instead of the hiring manager? Anyone have any insight? Thank you so much. First time interviewing outside of college

I'm having trouble deciding which roles or levels to target for an exit to in industry. I have several years of ops management prior to moving into PA as Staff. Currently a manager in tax at big 4 and ideally would want to go to prior industry at a mid-size or small company as CFO. Looking for insight to other roles I may be overlooking.

Just got a controller offer with pretty expanded duties given no CFO at the company. Well funded tech startup, no shortage of cash. I only have 3 years experience at Big 4, so probably a little early for me to get this role BUT they offered me a salary way below what is reasonable for this role.

A bit conflicted on if I should take it and run, or if its worth fighting for a comp that matches the duties
