First time I’ve heard of Hoala.
Makes me think of a koala that is a ho.
Strong lineup but the lofty cost of things like this is a big reason why planning hasn’t been a more diverse discipline.
Right?! Super sexy lineup but only every rich kid or daughter of the client is going to be able to make this on their own dime. As if any agency is going to pay a training budget right now. I’m a little tired of the people that get accelerated through this business being the same old confident public schoolboy. We just have not actively sought out diversity of thought and career background.
First thought: how nice, they got a few women after years of 99% male instructors.
Eurocentric is an academic term that refers to the “western world” so I think above is saying it’s “white” or “hegemonic” in that it doesn’t include voices from other place in the world such as Asia or Africa etc.

It’s a great lineup. If your agency is paying for it, do it! But I wouldn’t pay out of your own pocket. These things are often very inspiring but still no substitute for practical lessons learnt on the job, under the tutelage of a mentor.
Are they kidding? Three thousand euro??
To each their own. I personally did apply. I’ve been following the course for over 4 years and the fact that it finally went online and cut the cost in half was the best thing to come out of quarantine for me.
I know people who have taken it and people who have taught it and have heard nothing but great things. We all learn different ways, so definitely not everyone has to drop 3k euros to get better at strategy, there are many other courses out there. Check out Mark Pollards Summer camp if you haven’t already or Julian Coles Planning Dirty Academy! I think Rosie & Faris Yakob of Genius Steals are also doing virtual courses now and a sick library of resources —- so there’s always many other ways! This is definitely a hefty AF investment out of my own pocket but I’ve done research and think it will be good for my learning style and I’m interested to hear from different philosophies. Happy to report back if I get in!
Also wouldn’t knock the idea of agencies paying for it until you ask. There are many agencies who have specific budgets against development so always worth a try.
