I was on PTO last week and had some follow up interviews for a role I was interested in.

The bad news is, I promptly forgot to send thank you notes! (Family PTO in Disney/Kennedy Space Center - so a bit crazed!). I am back in the office today and sent the notes... but, I am wondering how big an issue this could be.

Thoughts?

I know I’m supposed to feel refreshed whenever I’m lucky enough to take a nice long vacation, but instead I feel unmotivated and distracted (even after I’ve been back for a few weeks). Anyone else feel this way when they come back?

Do people feel like other associates just avoid work on deals and generally leave a total mess when they take time off (and hand the mess)?

Day dreaming right now about going on vacation.

Would you rather go to Greece, Spain or Portugal? Why?

Aside from knowing vacations aren’t a thing for PMs. How does one burn some time off without keeping tabs on things? (I don’t have an assistant yet)

Got an offer to Disney, with a title bump to Manager…but with a $30K pay cut. Disney is my favorite company, the role sounds exciting, and I get more PTO, but the pay is low. Would you take it?

My previous firm took care of holiday related expenses if disrupted by work needs which is the general practice in the industry. Not the case at new firm. What are people's thoughts on this topic?

I’m almost always the only woman, woman of color, young woman in any meeting because I’m a technical product manager. I own a major product and I’m great at my job. But it always sucks when there are a bunch of white men, they find it awkward to pronounce my name. So they end up talking amongst themselves about my product and I have to interject. Any advice on how to deal with this?

Currently I am working full time at IT service desk and was thinking to enroll into a degree program. I completed 2 years computer programmer diploma almost 5 years ago and found that I have no interest in programming. I’m close to getting an offer, but starting to feel very anxious about a potential job change. I’m not happy in my current role (not a great product, people are awful to work with). But feeling nervous about something new also being bad.

OK fish! A couple of strange things have happened and I have a question. What can recruiters find out about your job seeking activities. For example, recently somebody in a senior position said “they just excepted a job with you, but they are still engaging with job postings on LinkedIn.” Can a corporate company know what you are doing on LinkedIn?
