Holiday Pay: We have 8 paid holidays, total of 64 hours, where everyone receives 8 hours of holiday pay regardless of what their schedule is. For example, someone working 10 or 12 hours shifts will receive 8 hours of holiday pay. To make up for the hours that they don't receive, they use PTO. What does your company do? Do you pay based off someone's schedule or is it the same across the board for everyone regardless of what they work?

Same across the board.
For those that work the holiday: receive holiday pay, regular pay and holiday premium.

like

Our holiday pay is based on your schedule. If you work 10 hr shifts you get paid for 10 hrs on holidays as well

like

Same across the board, our employees receive 8 hours for the holiday regardless of their scheduled hours.

like

8hr as well. Standard across the organization. However, depending on how roles are structured and if you have multiple locations with various functions, I would consider having holiday hours match their regular work day. This way you help to avoid the risk of hourly employees trying to make up hours throughout the week in order to have the same take home pay, especially around those longer holidays.

like

do they have the option to work instead of taking pto? Forcing them to use pto feels like a punishment instead of a benefit, I have worked places like that and it is a real morale destroyer (especially simce there was no holiday pay for working it)

like

even having to work extra days to make up the hours still feels like a punishment when I did it. Working same amount of days (even if the one day is short) . feels like you're getting screwed while those on 8hr day get a day off with no issue. I prefer the everybody gets paid a shift strategy

like

Almost the same with everyone here. We also pay the same across the board. Their schedule and number of hours are not considered.

We've been doing it based on schedule for years but I'm considering suggesting it to the board if we could pay equally across the board for future holidays.

Our holiday pay is also 8 hours. We only work 8 hour shifts though so that wouldn't really effect anyone here.

I’m a new associate to a T&E group, partner goes away on vacation and leaves me with a 706 to review and sign. The family is very wealthy. Decedent married for 60 years. Partner says it’s “just a DSUE election, decedent was ill for years, no assets.” Provides no records. Not even an admission the decedent owned a toothbrush. So I looked up the decedent’s home - it’s a joint asset. Partner was “surprised”, and still insists “no other assets”. I found file references to art and antiques.

I got an offer with a 60% hike and they asked me to reply to them with my resignation letter by tomorrow morning, only then they would proceed further.
I haven't resigned yet and am waiting for 2 more companies to reply about the offer.

So my question is how can I hold the current offer, like any excuse that feels valid & hold offer for 2 weeks.

Did anyone find this online training to be helpful? I test in July, so any tips would be greatly appreciated!
