Cool watch but 44mm is a non starter
Obviously would never be an every day watch but would be a cool piece to have if you don’t mind dropping 7K on an Oris
cool, but pricey for that brand, no?
Whoops, meant to say titanium, not platinum (lets be realists) 😬
Any chance 10+ day power reserves become standard in the next 10 years? Love my watches but 48 hour and under is really annoying
Doubt it. They had to do a lot to get this one there. This is a 21.6k bph movement and a lot of watches take a high beat and lower it to get more power. Hamilton does that a lot and it extends the reserve from 40 to 80 hours.
Just for accuracy sake: It’s a 10 day power reserve. Even says so on the watch.
Personally not impressed... 7k -44mm.
I’d rather look at the Zenith defy skeleton for 2k less.
I like where Oris’ head is at, and it’s a well designed watch, but not something I’ll be adding to the collection. With a ten day power reserve using a single, massive barrel I’d have concerns over accuracy and consistency (likely to run fast when fully wound and slow when almost out of power). My IWC Portuguese 7-Day auto suffered from this (the new gen of the 7-day uses a double barrel), and I believe I paid around $7k for that and it’s a much higher quality brand. Unless they severely limit supply, my guess is we’ll see these for about $3.5k on the secondary market in about six months, especially considering the 44mm diameter (even if it does wear smaller from the L2L, most people nowaways top out at 41/42mm).
Best case scenario is they make a paired down version that’s 40mm, has a 3 or 5-day power reserve, and has a retail price under $4k.
hell of a power reserve, but at what frequency? my Tissot has an 80 hour reserve but only operates at 4hz
It's a low beat movement to extend reserve time.
