Homegrown Consultant with 6 YOE and 4 PMYOE. I’ve only ever interviewed for my current company in college and it’s been 7 years. Haven’t had a formal interview for any project I’ve ever been on in this timeframe. Can you provide advice/share experiences on how you look for PM roles and what should I expect when applying for PM roles in interviews?

I'd like to ask you all this question. I am interviewing right now for lateral associate positions because I've hit a wall at my firm and am eager to leave. I'm a rising 4th year. I want to continue growing and am not necessarily looking for market or the highest pay. Is this a good way to look at things? Consider clients and work experience over comp and name when deciding my move?

Anyone know whats the TPP (technology partner program) ? My offer letter has the client as TBD and my role as a project delivery specialist. My recruiter said they'll find you a client once you're done with onboarding etc. How long does it take it to find a client and is the work currently remote or is it client dependent? I was told informally by the recruiter, that currently all these roles are remote.

How can you support moody, passive-aggressive clients and not let it impact your mental health? I understand that managing the relationship is largely our job in account servicing, but the stress and anxiety is taking its toll on me. Honestly feels like being in an abusive/toxic relationship. And yes, senior management and leadership are aware of this attitude and supportive wherever possible, but can only do so much. Help!

I was thinking “how would you” = hypothetical

My job title is changing from Project Manager to Account Executive and I’m wondering if I should ask for a raise, and if so, how much?

I was hired as a PM but have been operating as a cross functional AE/PM ever since a Senior AE left the company. Now they’re formally changing my title. I’m not any higher on the org chart but I do believe my responsibilities are increasing on paper since I will continue to work both the AE and PM roles. I’ve only been at the company for 4.5 months.

One of the liaisons from our highest paying clients has been harassing me lately and I reported it to my manager but they just gave him a slap on the wrist. They made it seem like I should "lay low" so that I don't ruin things with the client. I wanted to just quit but on 60k a year I can't afford to. So frustrated!

How to handle a toxic work environment? My team hired a new guy who has 0 experience and is younger than me, yet he was hired with a higher job title than me. I am fully licensed with my SIE/Series7/63/CFP (he has none of these). The firm makes these decisions but I am dumbfounded. I’m told if I want a higher job title I have to forgo overtime eligibility. Part of a large firm which is fairly hierarchical and am fairly junior in tenure. Feel like I don’t actually like any of my “superiors” and most of them have a very divergent views of what life is (given how much they want to work and how often they prioritize work). I like the work, I’m just tired of being exhausted by internal senior stakeholders and their never ending demands. Is industry the right place to look for some sense of reasonability? started a new PM role 4 weeks ago only to realise that the entire PM function is done by various other people inside the department. I have tried bringing up the discussion with my line manager without making it into a complaint (since i’m so new, and i want to be flexible) but i’m getting the impression that even my manager doesn’t know what a PM is or does. (He asked me if the roadmap should sit with the scrum master amongst other comments)
