Has anyone had a “live coding exercise” as part of their initial phone interview with Amazon? I am certainly not a programmer and the position doesn’t require programming skills, so I was pretty confused to see this. The recruiter said I wouldn’t be doing any “heavy coding”. Any tips on what to expect would be appreciated!

Sadly I think jumping ship is the answer. Good for helping the other folks but not for you.
So there’s no way to make more like incentives or bonuses? If they took that much I would be furious. That’s MY money. The fact that you have to negotiate to get where you already were is a deal breaker. Start updating that resume.
I think you should leave. Either that or try and negotiate, but it doesn't sound like they want to budge. If it doesn't look like things will ever return to normal I would start looking elsewhere.
Time to move on. This is a huge red flag.
I would leave. That is all way too much in the wrong direction.
My Fortune 500 employer thrives on people like you, people who have made it clear they are able to perform, are committed to the cause, and Money is not their primary motivator…I wouldn’t be surprised if your For-profit leadership actually attempts to make you feel guilty for asking for more money…as if you were working at a non-profit or a religious organization…that’s where you have some soul searching to do… anyone responding to your post, without having the deep personal connection you have to your work, would likely say move on!!
May I ask why you don't want to jump ship? It feels like they're pretty much trying to play you 😅
I adore the field team I support, we are doing really good work that helps save & change lives in the face of really hard decisions. I truly enjoy the JOB itself.
