Need honest opinions.... Is it really worth it to wait until after being a senior for a year to look for other opportunities?

Eh if you want to stick in consulting it probably doesn’t matter. But if you’re just going to go to industry then absolutely wait until senior

like

Absolutely not... go when you get your CPA license.

It doesn’t hurt to test the waters once you get the senior promo. You could actively recruit the entire year as an S1 to find your opp.

Depends on what you’re getting into. I moved from audit to a pmo position with competitive salary in industry as an A3

Nope

Hi all,

I need your advice and suggestions

I am looking to have my career into management consulting. I am a 2020 grad from VIT University and have around 2.5 years of job experience. Currently I'm working as a sector analyst and my job includes a lot of primary and secondary research and insight crunching. I am very sound in using all the ms applications along with a little knowledge of SQL.

Right now, I feel my job is kind of monotonous and I'm getting a feeling to move out...

Looking to branch out from mid-market work (currently editing on salary, full-time) and get into some more challenging and *hopefully* national work as a side-gig (or full-time remote) via freelance or becoming a name on a roster. Has anyone else made this very specific transition? Would love advice on pitching to other post houses, agencies, etc. Just looking to add some diversity to my portfolio to break up all the credit union and insurance company TV spots.

But I also know this job has been extremely tough on my health and my family and I regretted it the first time I turned down an offer.

I’m trying to decide to stay with Schwab as a CRS or accept a offer with CACI as a business systems analyst. The pay is the same Schwab is about 3k more but in MA and CACI is in NH where my gf and friends are. Ideally want to start my own company or get into VC or PE but having trouble being a new grad. Thinking this position might give me more skills and look better on a resume. Currently am client facing and doing ops. This role would be on a navy shipyard and doing data analytics. Any advice?

Does anyone here struggle with finding out their purpose and knowing what they want out of their career? Especially anyone in their 30's?

I ask because I had a lot of trouble finding this out myself, and after many years of developing ways to understand myself, and creating kind of a system to do that, I started doing it with some of my friends. One of my friends recommended I check out this Fishbowl and see if anyone also can relate to that and maybe I can be helpful to anyone here!!

Random, but valid/persistent thought.

After 2 years of a pandemic and working independently for many years, I am not feeling interviews AT ALL. There are points in the interview where I want to just say "Look! Either hire me or don't".

How can I get over this feeling? I'm over the whole "stand in the line of fire to prove how good I am" bs. Any recommendations for getting over this or possible industries to pivot into to avoid bs interview processes and ghosting?

I am on an engagement that has 2 managers. I enjoy working with 1 manager. He is very understanding and provides feedback/guidance. However, the other belittles me. She is constantly asking “why” and even when I am not sure of the response she keeps pressuring. She provides no actual information for me to learn from. Not sure if I should correct her on how she should speak to me. Or if I should jump ship & ask not to be on this engagement. still new so i am not stuck on this team yet.

Do B4 personnel have any pull in referrals for offices that they aren’t located in? Want to relocate and have some connections at the other B4 I’m interested in, just not @ the office I want to go to

One thing I like about my firm is that, if your intern sucks? You can just say they suck and they’ll get pulled off your job so you can focus on being efficient. I put considerable effort into 1: he’s never available, never finishes anything, never takes notes, doesn’t follow through on communication ever, zero initiative, and refuses to talk to anyone except 1 staff associate even when specifically directed otherwise. I can’t push pull or drag him if I tried (and I did). I don’t feel bad.

Curious to get some thoughts and ideas going… year end audit must happen. It requires people. People are - more than ever - tired of it and quitting faster than new hires being onboarded. How do we change that? What would be a win win for partners through staff, and get the audits done on time? There must be a solution!

Keeping in mind that now, people aren’t interested to sacrifice WLB…
