Lazard PCA: Anybody know what culture and Associate comp is like?

Edward Jones advisor with 30 million AUM and roughly 250k gross production. Been there for almost 4 years. Got an offer at Merrill Lynch to take over a 100 million dollar retirement transition plan in 5 years, or to join a 5 person Merrill Lynch team that manages a lot.

Pros to EJ: Have my own office, a year or two away from partnership, great office setting and client satisfaction.

Pros to Merrill: Bump in compensation, additional tools and services w banking, ability to take over assets.

Cognizant- 21L fixed and 1.5L variable
PWC - 22L fixed

This is for a guidewire role.
Which is a better offer? What would be a good option for growth wrt role, salary etc.
Also, PWC claims to offer variable based on their fixed CTC based on the ratings.. is this true ? How much is the avg percentage given?

Anyone in BigLaw given critical feedback to a very difficult partner and experienced a successful outcome? For context, there’s a partner (in M&A) who gives cryptic instructions, expects way too much from lawyers, doesn’t like making calls on difficult decisions, is not responsive to clients, etc. The partner is a rainmaker.
